Baseball club enjoys successful fundraiser

I am writing on behalf of the Hillsborough Diamond Club here at the Hillsborough High-school to thank all the people that came out to our Famous Dave’s fundraiser, and helped us raise $280 just for going out to eat there one night.
It was really great to see about 75 percent of the baseball club, as well as softball players, the ladies freshman lacrosse team, and other supporters enjoy good food and help increase the club’s funds in this way.
We will do it again! It was a real success.
Secondly, I would like to thank all our current banner sponsors, and the new ones from our 2004-2006 sponsor drive. Our newest sponsors are Famous Dave’s Barbecue, Lowe’s Home Improvements of Hillsborough, Durrant Construction of Hillsborough, Safety First Driving School of Somerset, and Rudy Burshnic Builders, of Hillsborough.
These wonderful supporters donated $1,000 for three years of advertisement on our picturesque varsity field. So far, 100 percent of our sponsors have been very happy with the finished project, and the opportunity to advertise at the very well attended varsity games.
Their 4 ft. by 8 ft. banners will hang for three consecutive years and be legible at a distance of 350 feet. Anyone interested in donating for a banner advertisement can call me at 369-5585.
Currently, the Diamond Club is involved with raising money for a very near and dear problem facing the Hillsborough community — seven Hillsborough kids now have the diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis, which involves excessive secretions in the lungs and respiratory problems, as well as other health problems. The Raiders would like to help raise money right now for these kids who perhaps can’t play sports, but can certainly do many other things.
Our goal is to add $10,000 to the research fund of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. One of our varsity players has a best friend with this disease — please consider giving a one time donation, or you can sponsor an amount of money per each varsity "hit" during a game until May 20.
Please ask any baseball player at the high-school about this if you are interested in giving, or call me.
We also welcome large one time donations from businesses in the community.
Please consider donating to the Hillsborough Diamond Club, or make your check directly payable to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and send to the Hillsborough High-School, Amwell Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844 to the Attention of the Diamond Club or Mr. Norm Hewitt.
Thanks for your support for the less fortunate in Hillsborough — the ones who battle quietly every day just to live a normal life.
