Public hearings expected May 23.

Bond ordinances for road projects and sewer and water utility equipment were introduced by the Hopewell Township Committee Monday night.
Public hearings and adoption votes are expected at the committee’s next regular meeting on May 23. Under state law, a public hearing must precede adoption of any proposed municipal ordinance.
The first of the three bond proposals would provide for $2,637,000 in capital improvements. Included are road overlay work, drainage improvements, culvert replacement and improvements to township public buildings and grounds.
Two other bond proposals would provide $295,000 and $11,000, respectively, for equipment for water and sewer utilities.
