The Montgomery Senior Center will host a number of programs at the Otto Kaufman Community Center in honor of Older Americans Month, which takes place this month.
At 11 a.m. today, Linda Barth, a Canal Society of New Jersey director, will conduct a program about the history of the Delaware & Raritan Canal.
On Monday, Lee Gladstein, consumer drug education manager with the state Division of Consumer Affairs, will host a program titled "Medication Awareness: Use and Misuse." That program also will take place at 11 a.m.
Mr. Gladstein will discuss medication side effects, how to avoid medication errors, and when to take herbal supplements or vitamins with medicines. There will be a question-and-answer period.
From 9:30 a.m. to noon May 24, an audiologist from Somerset Hearing Center will conduct a free hearing screening. Screenings will be offered on a first-come first-served basis.
At 10:45 a.m. June 6, Monique Rubens Krohn of the Heritage Trail Association will conduct a presentation titled "60 Miles of Legend and Lore."
Admission to center programs is free. Lunch will be available for a donation of $1.50. Those wishing to have lunch should contact the center by 10:30 a.m. one business day in advance.
