Elmerindo Ranallo
Former Princeton resident
BRIDGEWATER Elmerindo "Elmer" Ranallo died Thursday. He was 91.
Born in Pettoranello, Italy, he was a former Princeton resident and lived in Raritan for 62 years before moving to Arbor Glen Retirement Community in Bridgewater.
He retired in 1977 after 25 years with the Veterans Administration Government Supply Depot in Hillsborough.
A first class Navy seaman during World War II, he was a 35-year member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Sante Moretti Post 1748.
He was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church in Raritan and a 35-year member of the Raritan Senior Citizens Club.
He was an avid gardener, best known for his homegrown vegetables and flower gardens.
Son of the late Antonio and Eleanor Ranallo, husband of the late Agatha, who died in 1998, he is survived by his daughter, Roseann Ranallo, son Anthony Ranallo and grandson Randall Harter, all of Bridgewater; brothers John and Agilio Ranallo of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Raritan.
Interment will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Raritan.
Visiting hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main St., Bridgewater.

Stanley Tennenbaum
Mathematician and educator
WEST WINDSOR Stanley Tennenbaum died suddenly May 4 while visiting friends in the township.
A mathematician and educator, he was a former Princeton resident.
Predeceased by his ex-wife, Carol, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Jonathan and Rosa of Berlin, Germany, and Peter and Jacqueline of Rochester, N.Y.; daughter Susan of Rochester, N.Y.; and sister Shirley Bernstein of Cincinnati.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rochester Public Library, Rundel Library Foundation, book funds, 115 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14604.

Joseph R. Finnerty
Son lives in Princeton
PENNINGTON Joseph R. Finnerty died Tuesday at Stonebridge at Montgomery. He was 78.
Born in Olyphant, Pa., he had been a longtime resident of Metuchen before moving to Calabash, N.C., where he resided for 20 years. He and his wife moved to Pennington three years ago.
Prior to his retirement, he had been a partner with Touche Ross & Co., an accounting firm in Newark, and was a trustee of the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Husband of the late Mary Jane Finnerty, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Thomas and Joan Finnerty of Princeton, James of Edison, Robert and Jeanette of Edison and Patrick S. and Lorena of Sunset Beach, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law Kathleen Finnerty of South Brunswick and Mari and Charles Wall of Duluth, Ga.; and grandchildren Timothy, Peter, Jonathan, Nicole, Kayla, and Eric and his wife Sarah Finnerty, Elizabeth Greenberg and Tyler and Jeremy Wall.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at St. James Chapel, Eglantine Avenue, Pennington.
Interment will be private.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington.

Stella M. Schenck
Son worked at university
WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. Stella M. Schenck died May 6 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, N.Y. She was 85.
She had been a resident of Somerville most of her life.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed flower arranging and watching "The Animal Planet" on television.
Her son, a former Princeton resident, was a longtime Princeton University employee, working at Richardson Auditorium.
Daughter of the late Lydia and Frank Albright, sister of the late Betty Bell and Sonny Albright, wife of the late John C. Schenck Jr., she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Linda Schenck, of West Winfield, N.Y.; granddaughter Ellen Schenck of Manville; grandson Matthew Schenck of Lake Hopatcong; great-granddaughters Jessica and Casey Rapone; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend Barbara Demaray.
Memorial contributions may be made to any animal-rescue organization of the donor’s choice.
