Trash or treasure



   Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22 — Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, will hold the monthly sale Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Linens are the featured item this month and curtains are half-price.
Car/bike show



   Saturday, May 21 — The 2nd annual Joey Rosidivito Car and Bike Show will be held in the parking lot at Bordentown Regional High School, 50 Dunns Mill Road, Bordentown, from noon to 4 p.m. The lot will open at 11 a.m. Rain date is Saturday, May 28.
Coin-toss fundraiser



   Saturday, May 21 — Burlington County Animal Alliance, an all-volunteer organization working to rescue and find homes for abandoned animals, will hold a coin-toss fundraiser from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 206 and Martin Ave., Bordentown. Centennial events



   The following events are sponsored by the Roebling Centennial Committee to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Village of Roebling.
   Saturday, May 21 — The Roebling Centennial Committee will re-dedicate the village’s World War II honor roll at 9 a.m. at the new Centennial Park, Hornberger and Alden avenues, Roebling.
   The public is invited to attend. Veterans will be the guests of honor. The American Legion Post 39, Fourth Avenue, Roebling, will serve light refreshments.
   A "Stuffed Cabbage Cook off" will be held between noon and 5 p.m. at the Roebling Auditorium, Seventh Avenue and Main Street.
   People who enjoy eating stuffed cabbage can sample the entries. Advanced tickets are for sale for $6 per person. Entertainment will be provided by The Music Box. Stuffed cabbage take-out packages will be sold. Call Dinah at 499-2254 or Liz at 291-0510 for details.
   Commemorative throw blankets, centennial coloring books and Super 50/50 tickets will be sold at the cook-off.
   Sunday, May 22 — The community is invited to a non-denominational Vesper service in the bandstand at the Robeling Park, Riverside Avenue, at 7 p.m. The Rev. Garey Hope will present the meditation. Members of various churches in the community will participate with readings, ethnic and choral music.
   The community is asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the service. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the Roebling Auditorium.
   The Roebling Garden Club will dedicate a plaque at the monument in Roebling Park at 6:45 p.m.
Street Fair



   Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22 — The 28th annual Street Fair in historic Bordentown, sponsored by the Greater Bordentown Chamber of Commerce, will feature more than 100 crafters along with Bordentown-area merchants and services from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
   Along with the crafts, two full days of family fun and entertainment will be featured. Don’t miss the display of entries for the annual quilt square competition. Food will be provided by local restaurants and non-profit organizations.
   Admission is free and attendees may park in municipal lots and on side streets.
School registration



   Tuesday, May 24 — Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration for New Hanover Township School in Wrightstown is slated. Pre-kindergarten students must turn 4 on or before Sept. 30. Kindergarten students must turn 5 on or before Sept. 30.
   Parents must call the school at 723-2139 to make an appointment to register their children. Each child must be present for registration. Birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency must be brought to registration.
Post Office contest



   Deadline Wednesday, May 25 — The Columbus Post Office will hold a Henry Fonda trivia contest this month. The names of customers with the most correct answers are placed in a box for a drawing Friday, May 27.
   Customers can pick up entry forms at the Post Office and the winner will receive a prize. Contestants may mail their trivia contest entry form to Columbus Post Office, 231 Atlantic Ave., Columbus, NJ 08022 or drop by with it.
Cancer benefit



   Saturday, May 28 — a "Help Whip Cancer" fundrasier to benefit breast cancer research and awareness will be held at Chik-Fil-A in the Hamilton Marketplace from noon to 4 p.m.
   Consultants from the Pampered Chef, Home Interiors and Avon will be on hand. Up to 15 percent of the profits from The Pampered Chef and from Avon as well as 50 percent of the profits from Home Interiors will go toward the cause.
   All three companies will have products for purchase and catalogs to browse. Door prizes will also be featured.
Senior Citizens meeting



   Wednesday, June 1 — John A. Roebling Senior Citizens will meet at 2 p.m. at the V.F.W. A $5 reservation ticket will be available for an Installation Luncheon to be held June 15 at 1 p.m. at Town and Country Diner, Route 206 in Bordentown.
Call for crafters



   Register by Wednesday, June 1 — Crafters, artisans, and vendors with unique and handmade holiday crafts, specialty items and gifts are needed. Holy Assumption School in Roebling will hold its 3rd annual Fall Harvest Festival slated Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Flea market



   Saturday, June 4 — The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold the next flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s School hall and yard in Bordentown.
   Tuna salad or egg salad sandwiches and hot dogs will be sold. A large selection of articles will be on sale from our many vendors.
Atlantic City trip



   Sunday, June 5 — The Knights of Columbus No. 570 will sponsor a bus trip to the Showboat Casino. Bus will leave St. Mary’s Church at 4:30 p.m. for a four-hour stay at the casino. Cost is $17 per person and receive $18 from the casino.

Alpaca show and sale



   Sunday, June 5 — Alpaca show and sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Springfield Township, Jacksonville-Jobstown Road, Veterans Memorial Park (next to the municipal building).
   The event will feature a halter show, showmanship, costume class, obstacle course and vendors. Spinners and weavers are invited to demonstrate. Approximately 15 alpaca breeders and their alpacas will participate.

Buffet-style dinner



   Saturday, June 11 — Buffet-style ham dinner at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. (Reservations for 4, 4:30, 5, 5:30, 6 or 6:30 p.m. Reservations should allow one hour for dinner). Adults eat for $10, kids 5-12 eat for $5 and kids younger than 5 eat free. Take-out dinners cost $11.
   Menu includes ham, potato salad (with or without onions), baked beans, cole slaw, baked macaroni and cheese, Harvard beets, apple sauce, rolls, dessert and beverage. Call Joan Carslake at 298-2346 or 298-0158 for details.
