FFA helps youth develop potential
To the editor:
I recently attended the North Burlington FFA Chapter 46th Annual Member-Parent Banquet, which recognizes the accomplishments of chapter members. My wife and I, along with a room packed with proud advisors, parents, families and other guests, enjoyed a fabulous dinner hosted at the Chesterfield Firehouse.
I was proud to be in the company of such a great group of young men and women from our regional school district. Many of these fine young adults are from North Hanover Township including three chapter officers, Robbie Gancarz, president, Mega A. Scott, sentinel and acting treasurer Annaliese Gancarz.
With agriculture being a very important aspect of our community, it is reassuring to see such interest. The FFA is not just about cows and corn. There is a strong emphasis on all aspects of agriculture such as turfgrass, greenhouse, floral design, and mechanics and so on. The FFA Mission; "FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education."
This program is fortune ate to have a group of dedicated advisors who do a great job. I also commend the parents for their involvement and guidance. They are surely proud and rightly so. I strongly support the FFA and encourage these young adults to pursue their goals in life. With such supportive parents and families, I am confident they will. We are proud to have all of you as member of our community.

City garden plantings: a community effort
To the editor:
It is with respect and appreciation that I thank all members, old and new, who shared the work and camaraderie of planting the city gardens this past weekend. It is a job well done, one in which all of you can take pride.
Bordentown City Gardens is especially proud of a new project, and thanks go to Pat Patrizio and Frank Rios for planting our ten hanging baskets. These baskets represent opportunities for members to exercise their expertise and expand garden possibilities for our city. To all member volunteers caring for our gardens and monitoring our hanging baskets throughout the season I offer kudos. Our hanging baskets can be seen on Farnsworth Avenue near Park Street and we hope our residents will watch and comment.
Building onto past foundations for progress into the future is our goal. Accolades to everyone on a forward-moving team!

Association gives thanks for festival success
To the editor:
The Downtown Bordentown Association would like to thank everyone who attended the 9th Annual Iris Fest held in honor of Bordentown City resident and renowned hybridizer Franklin Carr. We will reserve our comments for Mother Nature who withheld sunny weather for a week before the festival, but she was kind enough to send those welcome sun rays on Saturday. We also thank the artists who brightened our streets with their artistry. What a wonderful variety of fine art. Kudos to art chairman C.J. Mugavero of the Artful Deposit Gallery for bringing in these artists from the tri-state area.
A huge thank you to the flower competition judges, members of the NJ Iris Society, Bill and Martha Griner. The lucky winners were: Franklin Carr Division, Joe Havens; Named Iris Division, Brett Buttler; Un-named Iris Division, Gayle Lawson; and Arrangements, Charlotte Iannacone.
As always, we thank Bob Errickson and his men for their efforts in our behalf. They worked tirelessly to clean the winter residue from Flynn Park on the hilltop, and to adorn the concrete walls with beautiful antique wrought iron fencing. It is always our pleasure to sponsor events that will bring people into town to share our bounty.

Candidate seeks feedback from township voters
To the editor:
What I am soliciting from you (Chesterfield voters) is your vote and ideas. Try to envision the next five years; try to find out more about the Master Plan and how it affects you.
If you correspond back to me and let me know what your ideas are as far as recreation, roads, travel, speed limits, and schools just to name a few, I will greatly appreciate that.
If it is possible to institute some of your ideas, we will do just that. At the very least your ideas will be brought forth to be looked at to determine whether they can be utilized now or in the future. I sincerely mean this!
Some of you have been very gracious through the years, calling me, visiting me, telling me not only of your concerns, but also your dreams about where our town should go and how it can better function and service the citizens.
Again, I don’t want to ramble on. I really want your support and to be honest, I need your support because this town is not owned by anyone. It belongs to all of the people.
If you will not be in town on June 7, please get an absentee ballot to vote, because your vote is important! Stay well.
Thanking you in advance. Let me know what’s happening to you and to your town.
