Harry Scabarozi



   TRENTON — Harry Scabarozi, 87, died Friday at the Capital Health Systems at Mercer. Born in Fayettesville, N.C., Mr. Scabarozi lived most of his life as a Trenton resident.
   He served during World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps. stationed in Guam. He retired in 1983 after 23 years service with the International Harvester, Trucking Division on Whitehead Road. He was an avid home gardener.
   Son of the late Enrico and Rosina Pernazza Scabarozi, he is predeceased by his brothers, Plinio Scabarozi, Plutarco Scabarozi and Denny Saybor and his sister, Laura Yuzwa. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Yuzwa Scabarozi; his two sons and their wives, Ted and Barbara Scabarozi of Mantua, Joe and Ellen Scabarozi of Yardville; his two daughters and son-in-law, Rose and Rick Zerrenner of Trenton and Barbara Scabarozi of Bordentown Township; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his three sisters, Ida Mudge of Pennington, Lena Caporusso of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Elsa Thoms of Orlando, Fla.; his brother, Robert Scabarozi of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity with Father Ivan Lymar officiating.
   Burial was in the Holy Trinity parish cemetery, Hamilton Township.

William Mannix



   HOPEWELL — William J. Mannix, 69, died Friday at the Medical Center at Princeton. Born in Bordentown, he resided in Hopewell most of his life.
   He worked in the automobile wholesale business and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and enjoyed traveling and hunting.
   Preceded in death by his parents, William and Beatrice Mannix Sr., he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean Dobkowski Mannix; two sons, Sean and his wife Kelley, and Brian; granddaughter, Jillian Ann; sister, Beatrice Castoro; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
   His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. today, Thursday, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Princeton Avenue And East Prospect Street, Hopewell.
   Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Frank Piscopo



   BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — Frank N. "Mammy" Piscopo, 83, died Friday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born in Trenton, he had resided in Bordentown for the past 52 years.
   He retired from both the New Jersey State Police where he was a graphic artist and from John A. Roebling & Co. in Trenton where he was employed for 28 years.
   Frank coached the Trenton semi-pro football team the "Santuzzo Oilers." He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of Bordentown and the Bordentown Township Senior Citizens.
   He is survived by his wife, Grace of Bordentown Township; two daughters, Elnora Piscopo of Hamilton and Rita Nutt and her husband Nelson of Hamilton; a brother, Daniel Piscopo of Trenton; a sister, Theresa Witkowski of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Tressa and Robby Chapin and Eric and Danielle Nutt; three great-grandchildren, Paige, Samantha and R.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday in St. Mary’s Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.
   Burial followed in the parish cemetery.

Helen M. Rutter



   CHELMSFORD, Mass. — Helen (Miller) Rutter, 87, a Chelmsford, Mass. resident for the past 11 years, died Friday with her family by her side.
   She was the wife of the late James Howard Rutter, to whom she was married for 46 years. She was born in Bordentown Township on Nov. 13, 1917, daughter of William and Sarah (Paul) Miller.
   She was raised in Fieldsboro and lived her adult years in Florence, working as a bank loan clerk before retiring with her husband to Clearwater, Fla. in 1992.
   She was a member of the Florence Methodist Church and then attended the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church. She was a resident of Summer Place and Meadow Lodge in Chelmsford before living at Sunny Acres Nursing Home.
   She is survived by her son, James H. Rutter, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Janice Rutter, of Chelmsford; her daughter Karen Kramer, of Portsmouth, N.H.; four grandchildren, Brent and Kristen Rutter, and Mark and Joshua Kramer; her brother, George Miller; and her brother-in-law, Bill Rutter.
Anna Melkonich



   Anna (Micklo) Melkonich, 88, died May 18 at her home after a long illness. She was born in Girardville, Pa. and lived in Minersville, Pa. before moving to Trenton in 1952. She was retired from the Roller Bearing Company. She was a member of the Altar/Rosary Society of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Deutzville Senior Citizens Club and the Deutzville Civic Association. She worked as a volunteer in Mercer Hospital for over 25 years and also bowled in several area leagues.
   She was the daughter of the late Mary Hasinetz and John Micklo; wife of the late Nicholas Melkonich and mother of the late Nicholas Melkonich Jr. Mrs. Melkonich is survived by her daughter, Joanne Ingham of Roebling; her daughter-in-law, Judy Melkonich of Hamilton; her six grandchildren, Kevin, Troy, and Dayna Ingham, Donna Everett, Kenneth and Thomas Melkonich; her six great-grandchildren, Abigail, Audrey and Avery Ingham, Kyle and Rachael Everett and Hannah Melkonich; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held Monday at Kutch Funeral Home, 215 Grand St., Trenton. Office of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory J. Noga officiating. Interment was in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery No. 3 in Hamilton.
