LAMBERTVILLE Marie W. Masterson, 74, died Monday, May 23, at home.
Born in West Amwell, she lived in Lambertville for 54 years.
Mrs. Masterson retired from South Hunterdon Regional School in 1991 where she had been school board secretary until 1982 and custodian of school monies for seven years.
Prior to that, she worked from 1951 to 1968 for the City of Lambertville as an assistant city clerk.
She was the daughter of the late W. Alfred and Marie Wooden.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Frank P. Masterson Jr., a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Vicki Masterson of Madison, Wis.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and William Clark of Southport, N.C., and Michele and James Howarth of Hopewell; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Frank P. and Patricia Masterson III of Lambertville; five grandchildren, Christopher, Susan and Megan Masterson and Jimmy and Lauren Howarth; two step-grandchildren, Keith Masterson of Flemington and Kathleen Petrucci of Lambertville; two brothers, William Alfred Wooden of Florida and Charles Wooden of Stockton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Wooden, her sister, Betty Akers, and her grandson, Eric Allen Masterson.
A funeral liturgy was held Friday from St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Lambertville. Interment followed in Harbourton Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. Mary Boyle Cane, 90, of Bethlehem, formerly of Rosemont, died Tuesday, May 24, in Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem.
She was the widow of the late Charles Cane.
She and her husband owned and operated the Cane Furniture Farm for many years in Rosemont.
Born in East Mauch Chunk, she was a daughter of the late Connell D. and Mary Kiggins Boyle.
A graduate of Mauch Chunk Catholic High School, she received a degree as a registered nurse from the University of Pennsylvania. She worked as a registered nurse for many years for an ear, nose and throat specialist in New York City.
Ms. Cane was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lambertville.
A first lieutenant in the Navy, she served in England during World War II.
Surviving is a sister, Catherine Durnin of Carmel, Ind.; a stepson, Philip and his wife, Carol; two sons, Owen and Christopher of Rosemont; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Boyle of Whitehall; a niece, Maureen Boyle Corcoran of Perkasie; and many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Cane was predeceased by four brothers, William, Charles, Connell and John.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at Holy Family Manor Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to the manor.

LAMBERTVILLE June M. Kersey, 86, of Lambertville died Monday, May 30, at home.
Born in Hackensack, N.J., Mrs. Kersey came to Lambertville in 1923.
She was a dressmaker and milliner working from her home for many years. She first worked for Hoffman’s Millinery in Lambertville and was the costume mistress for the first seasons of St. John Terrell’s Music Circus in West Amwell.
She was a graduate of Lambertville Public School and Lambertville High School.
She was a member of the Old Rocks Church in West Amwell and a past member of the Lambertville Historical Society.
She was the daughter of the late Austin P. and Margaret Roberson Mullen.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lynn K. and P. Edmund Towle Sr. and Sandra J. Kersey and Ken Heffner, all of Lambertville; two grandsons and their wives, P. Edmund Towle Jr. and Marianna Towle of Lexington, Ky., and Geoffrey and Heather Towle of Lambertville; five great-grandchildren, Anna, Olivia and Bryce Towle of Lexington and Casey and Cassey Towle of Lambertville; and a niece, June Hosaflook of Harrisonburg, Va.
Funeral services will be held today (June 2) at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lambertville.
Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

WEST WINDSOR Jean E. Smith, 84, died Thursday, May 26, at home.
Born in Lambertville and raised in Princeton, Mrs. Smith had been a resident of West Windsor for more than 40 years.
She was a homemaker her entire life.
She was a member of the Princeton Junction Fire Company 1 Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of the VFW Post 5700 in Hightstown.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Earl L. Smith Jr.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline J. and Vincent W. Leone of Willingboro and Kathy Lee and Kevin A. Boehm Sr. of Wall; a son, Earl L. Smith III of Sutton, Ark.; a sister, Mary Virginia Pierre of Lawrenceville; 12 grandchildren, Kevin, Brenda, Chip, Selina, D’Arcy, Seth, Jayme, Ethan, Fred, Peter, Bell and Hazel; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today (June 2) from the Saul Colonial Home, Hamilton Square. Burial will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Veteran’s Section, Robbinsville.
