Lawrence Intermediate School Assistant Principal Andrew Zuckerman is in line to be appointed as the new principal at Lawrence Middle School, according to school district officials.
Mr. Zuckerman will take over as LMS principal July 1, if the township Board of Education approves Superintendent of Schools Max Riley’s recommendation at its June 15 meeting. He would replace LMS principal Nancy Pitcher, who is retiring this month.
Mr. Zuckerman was hired as an assistant principal at LIS in August 2004. The assistant principal’s salary is $93,000, but he was paid a prorated salary of $72,761 because he did not take over his new duties until September.
The prospective principal’s salary at LMS has not yet been set, said Rebecca Gold, the district’s director of personnel and technology.
A graduate of Hofstra University, located in Long Island, N.Y., Mr. Zuckerman earned a bachelor’s degree in education and physical education. He also earned master’s degrees in business administration and educational administration from Rider University.
Before taking the LIS assistant principal position, Mr. Zuckerman taught physical education in the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District and also was the district coordinator of health and physical education in the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District.
