Police: Man died from electric shock

SOUTH BRUNSWICK — A 28-year-old man was found dead at a construction site along Dey Road.

According to South Brunswick Detective James Ryan, police responded to a report of an unconscious man at the construction Tuesday night.

The man was found unresponsive by a co-worker, according to Ryan. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

It appears the man had been accidentally electrocuted by a low-hanging wire at the site, according to Ryan.

It was unclear whether the victim tried to remove the wire himself or was hit by the wire. An autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office was expected for Wednesday afternoon.

The identity of the victim was not released as of press time.
