George Mindos Sr.

   MANVILLE — George Mindos Sr. died June 10 at home. He was 80.
   He lived in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., before moving to Manville 64 years ago.
   Mr. Mindos worked for the Johns-Manville Corporation in Manville for 36 years, retiring in 1982. He was a quality Control Supervisor from 1962 to 1982 and a member of the Johns-Manville Quarter Century Club.
   He served in the United States Navy as a Second Class Petty Officer during World War II, serving in the Submarine Service in the Pacific.
   He was a life member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post 2290 in Manville, serving four years as the post quartermaster and six years as a post trustee.
   He was a member of the American Legion Post 364 in Manville and a life member of the Senior Citizens of Manville Organization.
   He was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough.
   Survivors include his wife, Florence Mindos; one son, George Jr. of Highland Lakes; a daughter, Diane Puppo of Bridgewater; a sister, Ann Warnesky of Kansas; and five grandchildren.
   The funeral was held June 14 from Ketusky Funeral Home in Manville followed by a Divine Liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough,
