Lava lamp destroys family home.

A Dawn Court home was deemed uninhabitable last week after a fire that started in the living room damaged the rest of the house, police said.
Police said the fire was reported at 9 p.m. June 8 and started when a lava lamp tipped over, igniting the first-floor living room couch.
Police said no one was injured in the blaze. The home’s owner, Paul Nemanic, was staying with friends on June 8 and 9 until repairs are made to his home, police said. The home suffered smoke and water damage.
The home is part of a townhouse community, but only Mr. Nemanic’s house was deemed uninhabitable.
Police said the owner was on his back deck and a neighbor came to tell him his house was on fire.
Police said when members of the Monmouth Junction Fire Department arrived at the scene, smoke and flames were coming out of the first-floor bay window.
Police said the firefighters were able to contain the fire to the living room but the house sustained smoke and water damage.
Police said that in addition to the Monmouth Junction Fire Department, the Kendall Park Fire Department and the Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad also responded to the call.
