SOUTH BRUNSWICK — Shake-speare’s being shuffled around.
The library officially closed on Monday for renovations to complete its $4.3 million expansion process.
The temporary location at the utilities building at the municipal complex is expected to open in early July, according to Assistant Director Christopher Carbone.
The library will remain closed until early fall.
According to Carbone, the temporary library will contain popular collections of materials for children, teens and adults. The summer reading programs will also continue.
The Bookmobile will have extended services beginning June 28 to include Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at Woodlot Park between 6 and 9 p.m.
“The library staff is busy packing and preparing for the remodeling and move to the temporary location,” Carbone said.
Checked-out material can be returned to any township bookdrop, but audio and visual material must be returned to the bookdrop at the library on Kingston Lane. Material can be kept until the temporary library is open without overdue fines, according to Carbone.
In the meantime, South Brunswick Library cards can be used at libraries in North Brunswick, New Brunswick, Franklin Park, Plainsboro and Monroe, according to Carbone.
