The Jacoutot Brothers are regarded as one of the finest wrestling families in a state that has consistently produced some of the best high school wrestlers in the nation.

In total, the five Jacoutot brothers have racked up more New Jersey state placings (12) than any other family in state history. Their numerous accolades include three individual state titles, five NCAA Division III championships and two Division III Outstanding Wrestler awards.

For one week at Manalapan High School, from July 11th to July 15th, all five brothers return to New Jersey to host one of the top wrestling camps in the area.

Bill Jacoutot, the oldest of the brothers, is a nationally renowned high school wrestling coach at Spencerport High School in New York. Bill’s teams have captured four New York State team championships and they are consistently ranked among the nation’s top 25. He has developed nine individual New York state champions and numerous place winners during his stellar 23-year career.

“Bill is one of the best high school coaches in the nation,” said Dave Icenhower, head coach for College of New Jersey. “Bill has worked my Lions wrestling camps for years and has been one our most popular and frequently requested clinicians by coaches.”

The goal of the camp is to keep the groups small and focused, and to present wrestling in an organized and systematic fashion. The camp focuses on developing wrestling fundamentals through extensive drill sessions in closely supervised groups. In addition, wrestlers will be divided into groups based on experience and skill level.

Tim Jacoutot, camp director, said, “The camp has been growing for the past three years. Our focus is to make the wrestling intensive, interactive and fun for the kids. The feedback from parents and children has been overwhelmingly positive.”

The evening session runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and brings in talent from some of the best high school wrestling teams in the area such as St. John Vianney, Manalapan, Christian Brothers Academy, Howell Township High School and Old Bridge Regional High School.

“The Manalapan Mat Rat Camp was the best wrestling camp I went to last year,” said Brandon Cohen, a 125 pound wrestler from Manalapan High School, who also plans to attend the Mat Rat camp this year.

The camp is for ages 6 to 18 and offers two sessions. Session 1 (ages 6-11) is held from 9-11 a.m. and Session II (ages 12-17) is held from 6-8 p.m. at Manalapan High School.

There is still time to register. For more information, call (732) 786-9293 or go to www.matratsinc.com.
