As candidates for election to the Hillsborough Township Committee in November, we pledge to focus on the important issues facing the residents of our community.
We wish to thank the voters who took the time to support us in the recent primary election as Democratic candidates for Township Committee.
We are long-time residents of Hillsborough and understand the importance of ensuring open and responsive government, controlling taxes, acquiring open space to limit residential development, maintaining public safety, defending the right of citizens to petition and vote on change to a directly elected mayor/council, and providing affordable recreation for youth and senior citizens.
Our mission is to put Hillsborough first.
We will be proactive advocates for the removal of the stored mercury, the completion of the 206 Bypass, and implementation of the Town Center Plan.
We believe that the planned truck/rail terminal and transload facility at the VA depot is not good for Hillsborough and we will take all necessary steps to stop it. As members of the Township Committee we will lobby for development on this site that is consistent with our existing economic development zone including conference center, restaurants, recreation facilities, retail services, hotels and offices.
In the coming months we look forward to meeting and speaking with the residents of Hillsborough. Please check our Web site at www.Vote4hillsborough.org.
