Theodore C. Pulaski

Mr. Pulaski, 92, of Brick, died June 16 at Burnt Tavern Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Brick. Born in the Tennent section of Manalapan, he had lived in Lakehurst for more than 20 years before moving to Brick 10 months ago. Prior to retiring 20 years ago, he was a member of Heavy and General Construction Laborers’ Funds of New Jersey, Local No. 472, Newark, for 30 years. He was also a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church, Lakehurst, and Moose Lodge No. 1907, Forked River, Lacey Township. Mr. Pulaski was predeceased in 1964 by a daughter, Jeanette Reed, and in 2002 by a son, Michael Pulaski. Surviving are his wife, Marion Ploeger Pulaski; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Theodore C. Pulaski Jr. and Dolores Pulaski of Toms River, Leo Pulaski of Lacey Township and Kenneth Pulaski of Brick; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Marjorie and Thomas Doscher of Monmouth Junction, Carol and Sal Navantieri of Toms River, Marion Koval of Brick and Sharon Pulaski of Helmetta; two sisters, Ann Stelmazek of Englishtown and Evelyn Ficke of Freehold; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.

Edward Hala

Mr. Hala, 78, of Freehold, died June 17 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Canada and raised in East Brunswick, he had lived in North Bergen before moving to Freehold 26 years ago. Mr. Hala retired from the North Bergen Department of Public Works, and after his retirement, he was a self-employed building contractor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. Mr. Hala was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Hala, in 1999. Surviving are three sons, Edward Hala Jr. of Ringoes, Thomas Hala of Homosassa, Fla., and Steven Hala of Florida; four daughters, Kathleen Hala of Neptune City, Patricia Burger of South Brunswick, Linda O’Donnell of Somerset, and Mary Elaine O’Dell of North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Joyce Hala of East Brunswick; a companion, Alice T. Sullivan of Freehold; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Rosemarie Watt

Mrs. Watt, 63, of Howell, died June 17 at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston. Born in Passaic, she had lived in Saddle Brook before moving to Howell 23 years go. Mrs. Watt was a medical coder at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, for many years before retiring eight months ago. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Passaic. Mrs. Watt is survived by her husband of 45 years, James R. Watt Sr.; two sons, James. R. Watt Jr. of Smithville and Roy P. Watt of Howell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gina M. and Howard Puglia of Brick, and Bridget H. and Thomas Serzan of Howell; one nephew; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, Brick, followed by entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. The O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements.
