Lauren M. D’Elia of Brick graduated May 9 from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Pomona, with a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies and a minor in philosophy. She is the daughter of Diane D’Elia and the granddaughter of Phyllis and William D’Elia, all of Brick.

Jennifer J. Steider of Brick graduated magna cum laude on May 7 from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science in education degree in elementary education/sports pedagogy.

Amy Vergason, of Brick, graduated May 13 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, Va., where she earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the College of Science.

Georgette Chryssanthakopoulos, of Brick, has been invited to participate as a Governor’s Scholar for the 2005 session of the Governor’s School on Public Issues and the Future of New Jersey, which is held at Monmouth University in West Long Branch. She was chosen by an out-of-state reviewer and a Monmouth University selection committee. Chartered by then-Gov. Thomas Kean in 1983, the New Jersey Governor’s School is a summer residential program committed to meeting the educational needs of artistically and academically talented high school students who have completed their junior year. The curriculum emphasizes problem solving, leadership training, team interaction and creative expression. Each of the six governor’s schools has a separate location and a different academic emphasis. The public-issues program focuses on current legislation affecting New Jersey along with the state’s philosophical foundations and policy making.
