Edith Larson Hillman, 88, died July 26 at home.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to Hopewell Township in 1919.
A graduate of Hopewell Township High School, she attended Rider College and was employed at Woolsey and Cadwallader in Pennington as a bookkeeper for 30 years.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Hopewell for 65 years. She also was a member of the Hopewell Woman’s Club, the Pennington Women’s Club, and Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
Ms. Hillman and her sister, the late Ruth Becher Chartier, established the Larson Land Foundation to provide specifically for the maintenance of preserved farmlands.
Daughter of the late Nils and Siri Larson, who emigrated to Brooklyn, N.Y., from Sweden; wife of the late Benjamin Carl Hillman Jr.; sister of the late Ruth Larson Becher Chartier; and niece of the late Victor Johnson, she is survived by a brother-in-law Richard D. Hillman and his wife Anna of Hopewell Township; two nephews, Barry L. Hillman and his wife Erika and their two sons, Adam and Kylan, and Richard D. Hillman Jr., all of Hopewell Township; and Joann George, her long-time caregiver and friend of Ewing.
Funeral service and interment were private.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held on Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church of Hopewell with the Rev. T. Hardgrove, pastor, officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
