The Old Bridge/Cheesequake U10 state champion girls softball team is looking for five players to join its fall squad. Games will be held every Saturday, September through October, against other local towns. Any girl interested in playing competitive softball born 1994 or later may contact [email protected] for a tryout.

The Goodwill Ambassadors are currently accepting applications for high school-age volleyball players in the USA and Canada to participate in the 2006 Goodwill Ambassadors Volleyball exchange to Europe. Members of this team will represent their country, community and the Goodwill Ambassadors’ teams in volleyball tournaments and local competitions in London, Paris, Venice and Rome. Sports for Youth Foundation Inc. is currently accepting applications for the Masters Age Volleyball Tour to Brazil. Division of play are: age 21-39 adult division; age 40-49 senior division; and age 50-plus masters division (program is open to both men and women). Players will take part in the Goodwill Ambassadors Volleyball Exchange, promoting friendship/peace through sport. This two-week program takes place from Dec. 9-20. The deadline for applications is Oct. 15, or when eight players per team (women/men) have been accepted into the year’s tour.

The following are the results for the Tamarack Women’s Golf Association’s 18-Hole Group’s July 12 outing — Low Gross/Low Net.

In flight A, Rita Reisert came in first, second was Betty Long and third went to Doris Kohlberg. Carolyn Meyer had low putts. Flight B winner was Young Sook Kim, second was Carol Elkins and third Claudia Homoki. Muriel Feniello had low putts. In Flight C, first place went to Agnes Olsson, followed by Joan March and Ellie de la Bandera. Judi Weinberg had low putts.

At the July 19, Low Net, 100 percent Handicap event, in Flight A Karen Eng won with a 75, with second to Rita Reisert with a 77. Flight B winner was Young Sook Kim, wile Carol Elkins took second and Meryl Abramowitz third. Flight C first place went to Carolyn Barsczc, with second to Judi Weinberg and third to Joan March. Tanya Tomaino had low putts.

At the three-week Match Play for President and Vice President’s Cup, Rita Reisert won the President’s Cup. Young Sook Kim won the VP Cup.

At the July 26 (F & T Tournament, stroke play, 50 percent handicap), Flight A went to Rita Reisert, with second to Young Sook Kim and third to Karen Eng. Doris Kohlberg had low putts. Flight B winner was Linda Weintraub, followed by Meryl Abramowitz and Carol Elkins. Claudia Homoki had low putts. Flight C first place went to Agnes Olsson, with second to Joan March and third to Judi Weinberg. Carolyn Barsczc had low putts.

And at the Aug. 2 outing — Relay Tournament with partners — First place went to Meryl Abramowitz and Carolyn Barsczc (68), with second to Karen Eng and Carole Elkins (68.5) and third to Charlotte Casey and Perry Pernice (69). Low putts went to Claudia Homoki.

The Monroe Township Soccer Club (MTSC) is now accepting registrations for the fall season. The season starts in mid-September. Registration forms can be filled out and dropped off at the Monroe Recreation Center, 120 Monmouth Road, Monroe.

Tryouts for the 2006 regional and state champion U12 Cheesequake/Old Bridge Hustlers will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 5 p.m. at Cheesequake fields. Any girl interested in playing spring/summer competitive tournament softball and was born in 1993 or later is eligible.

The following are the results of the Tamarack Women’s Nine-Hole Golf Association’s July 28 outing — Stoke play, no handicap. Sandy Sulam won the A Flight with a 50, followed by Ellie de la Bandera (51), Marion Batchelor (54) and Jean Ertle (55). Sally Deyette won the B Flight with a 54, followed by Terry Massaro (57), Joan Semen (57) and Lois Perrotta (59). The C Flight went to Joyce Nicolaison with a 60, followed by Sally Hindes (65) and Jeannette Squires (66). Batchelor and Deyette had low putts with 16.

The MSM Baseball League of New Jersey is currently forming and admitting new teams for the fall season. Individual players and/or teams 18-years-old and up of any skill are welcome. The league features five separate leagues of play, Internet stats and box scores for all games, and a 10-game season followed by playoffs. In addition, the all-star game is played in a pro baseball stadium. Season starts in early September.
