Kathleen D. Carbone
Mrs. Carbone, of Manalapan, died Aug. 26 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Queens, N.Y., before moving to Manalapan 38 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. Mrs. Carbone is survived by her husband, John Carbone; her children, John, Karen, Mary and Regina; two sisters, Mary and Eileen; and 10 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Thomas More Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
Helen Leete Medwin
Mrs. Medwin, 49, of Millstone, died Aug. 24. Born in Sidney, N.Y., she later lived in Lansdowne, Pa., Asheville, N.C., and Freehold, Howell and Manalapan. She attended Freehold High School in Freehold Borough, Temple University in Philadelphia and Rutgers University in New Brunswick, graduating with a degree in accounting. She was employed by Innovative Software Solutions, Cherry Hill, but spent most of her career working as a programmer for Princeton Financial (now State Street Corp.). She was a communicant of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, Lincroft section of Middletown, where on occasion she played classical music and folk guitar. She also served on the church’s Hospitality Committee. Mrs. Medwin ran for the N.J. State Senate and U.S. Congress as a candidate for the Libertarian Party. In addition, she earned a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She was predeceased by her parents, Ella D. and Calvin B. Leete. Surviving are her husband, Al Medwin; a daughter, Jeanette Radder of Manalapan, and her former husband, Stuart Radder; two brothers, Thomas Leete of Westford, Mass., and Stephen Leete of Silver Spring, Md. A memorial service was held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
