HILLSBOROUGH Doris M. Mergelsberg 73 died Sept. 30 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa. She was 73.
Born in Bristol, Pa., she moved to Hillsborough over 40 years ago.
Ms. Mergelsberg worked in the cafeteria at the Hillsborough Middle School for more than 30 years before her retirement in April.
She was a member of the Pillar of Fire Church in Zarephath and was past president of the Hillsborough VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Hillsborough.
Surviving are her husband, Royal F. Mergelsberg; three sons, Doug Dale of Somerville, Perry Mergelsberg of Antioch, Calif., and Frank Mergelsberg of Philipsburg; two daughters, Cindy Mergelsberg of Allentown, Pa., and Jean Rupert of Manville; her twin brother, Donald Hellyer of Long Valley; two sisters, Lillian High of Somerset and Margaret Benedick of Neshanic; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 3 at the Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home in Bound Brook, followed by burial in The Neshanic Cemetery in Hillsborough.
