Robert E. Rubin, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury during the Clinton administration, will lecture on the economic challenges facing the United States in a talk Oct. 19 at Princeton University.
Mr. Rubin will deliver the Walter E. Edge Lecture at 8:15 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium of Alexander Hall on the university campus.
The lecture, "The Outlook for the Global Economy and the Challenges That Must Be Met," will address the unprecedented economic challenges facing the U.S. at home and abroad.
From 1993 to 1995, Mr. Rubin served in the White House as assistant to the president for economic policy and directed the activities of the National Economic Council.
Prior to that, he spent 26 years at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York. In 1995, he became the 70th secretary of the Treasury. He served until 1999.
Currently, Mr. Rubin is director and chairman of the Executive Committee at Citigroup.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Doors to the auditorium will open at 7:45 p.m. The lecture will also be available by simulcast in McCosh Hall 10 on the Princeton campus.
