Thursday, Oct. 13 Bordentown City’s Crime Watch group is seeking new members. The group will meet at 7 p.m. on the second floor of City Hall.
Help is needed to make The city a safe place to live and a city that is free of drugs. Please join the crime watch group to deal with these problems facing the community.
Fall Market Festival
Saturday, Oct. 15 The Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 280 Crosswicks Road, Bordentown Township, will hold the Fall Market Festival as a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for local families in need. A flea market, car show, games and activities for the kids, a hay ride and more will be featured.
Proceeds will help local families in need through The Isaiah Project, the church’s local community service organization. Call 298-2880 and choose the Isaiah Project extension for details.
Oyster/chicken supper
Saturday, Oct. 15 Order of the Eastern Star, Bordentown chapter, will present the annual Fried Oyster and Chicken Salad Supper with seatings from 3 to 6 p.m. Takeout orders may be picked up between 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 121 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.
Menu includes fried oysters, chicken salad, green beans, potatoes, pepper hash, cranberry sauce and a variety of homemade cakes. Dinners cost $18 for adults and $9 for children under 12; kids younger than 5 eat free.

Church breakfast
Sunday, Oct. 16 Holy Assumption Parish of Roebling, 1290 Hornberger Ave., will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at McGrath Hall. Menu features eggs, home fries, sausage, pancakes, orange juice, coffee, and rolls. Cost: Adults eat for $5, seniors 65 and older eat for $4 and kids 6-12 eat for $3 and kids under 5 eat free.
CROP Walk
Sunday, Oct. 16 The Annual Greater Bordentown Area CROP walk will start at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bordentown, Prince and Church streets.
The 10-kilometer/6-mile walk through historic Bordentown City will end with refreshments served at the Trinity United Methodist Church.
This inter-faith event had participants from 10 local congregations last year and raised more than $3,000 to help fight world hunger. If you would like to participate as a walker or a sponsor, contact your local congregation or call the Rev. Jay Rambo at 298-0487.
‘Little Shop’ auditions
Sunday and Monday, Oct. 16-17 The Academy Theater, 146 Route 130, Bordentown, will hold auditions for "Little Shop of Horrors" Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 7 to 10 p.m.
Those interested are asked to prepare 16 bars of something with a Broadway, rock or pop theme and be prepared to dance and sing from the score.

Career Night
Thursday, Oct. 20 Bordentown Regional High School will hold College/Career Night in the cafeteria from 7 to 9 p.m.
More than 35 local and regional colleges and universities as well as representatives from the armed forces will be in attendance.
Trash or Treasure
Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22 Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, will hold the monthly sale from 9 a.m. to noon. All Halloween items and costumes will be half price.
‘Exit the Body’
Beginning Friday, Oct. 21 The Bordentown Community Players will present Fred Carmichael’s mystery "Exit the Body" in the auditorium at Rancocas Valley Regional High School, 520 Jacksonville Road, Mount Holly. Friday and Saturday performances are slated at 8 p.m. on Oct. 21- 22, Oct. 28 and Nov 4-5.

Oyster supper
Saturday, Oct. 22 Reservations are being accepted for the annual Oyster Supper held at Hedding Methodist Church, intersection of Old York and Hedding-Kinkora roads in Mansfield Township. Seatings every half hour from 3 to 7:30 p.m.
Adults eat for $19, kids under 12 eat for $9 and kids younger than 5 eat free. Reservations required call Claudia Teal at 324-0792.
Church bazaar will be held in the basement featuring quilts, pillows, place mats and baked goods. Pepper relish, served at the supper, will be sold.
Bring-A-Friend Sunday
Sunday, Oct. 23 The First Baptist Church of Bordentown, Prince and Church streets, will hold Bring-A-Friend Sunday. Sunday School at 9 a.m. with worship at 10:15 a.m. featuring special music by the choir and a dramatic first- person sermon on a Biblical character presented by the Rev. Jay Rambo. A coffee hour will follow.
Women’s Day
Sunday, Oct. 23 Shiloh Baptist Church, 104 ½ Elizabeth St., Bordentown, will observe the annual Women’s Day at 11 a.m. Guest speaker Deaconess Marzene Bennett of the Union Baptist Church of Bordentown will be featured along with the theme "Christian Women Reclaiming Our Destiny." Pumpkin Fest

Saturday, Nov. 5 Join a guided tour of open space in Bordentown City. Highlights will include recent open space acquisitions in the city. Learn about the city’s Open Space Plan and efforts to create greenways and trails within the city connecting to Bordentown Township.
