The Jewish Center of Princeton will celebrate the installation of its new senior rabbi, The Rev. Adam S. Feldman, on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. in the center, which is located at 435 Nassau St.
Sheket, the Children’s Choir of The Jewish Center, along with members of the Senior Choir, will perform at the ceremony. Cantor Murray Simon, will be singing a beautiful rendition of "Shalom Aleychem," A Song of Welcome, and will be accompanied by a string ensemble. A dessert reception will follow the installation program.
Rabbi Feldman officially began his duties as senior rabbi in July. Since that time, he has flawlessly integrated himself into the Princeton community, center spokesmen said, and led services for the High Holy Days. The community and membership of the Jewish Center have embraced his presence.
According to Linda Grenis, president of The Jewish Center, "Our congregation is feeling energized. We anticipate continued growth under Rabbi Feldman’s spiritual leadership and guidance. He values, as much as much as our congregation does, the relationships we have within our congregation, as well as those in the larger community."
Rabbi Feldman grew up in southern New Jersey and received his BA in Hebraic Studies from Rutgers University in 1987. He was ordained in 1999 at The Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
While at The Highland Park Conservative Temple and Center in Highland Park, he served as the adult program coordinator and youth community director.
Immediately prior to coming to The Jewish Center, Rabbi Feldman served for six years as assistant and then associate rabbi at Temple Beth Sholom in Roslyn Heights, N.Y. He is a member of the Rabbinical Assembly, the UJC Federation Rabbinical Cabinet and the Regional Youth Commission of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
