Potter Sr.
   MAPLE SHADE — John F. Potter Sr., 70, died Oct. 21.
   Husband of the late Guiseppa Potter, Mr. Potter is survived by his children, Anna Maria Miller of Cream Ridge, Joanna Bruschi of Marlton, and John F. Potter, Jr. of Haddon Township; his grandchildren, Sean, Kyle, Jesse, Ashley, Heather, Zachary, Josha and Lauren; and his siblings, Edna Leifheit, Thomas Potter, Joseph Potter.
   Relatives, friends and fellow members of the Maple Shade VFW Post #2445 were invited to attend Mr. Potter’s life celebration at Inglesby/Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 East Main Street. Funeral Mass followed at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church, Main Street and Fellowship Road, Maple Shade. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
Charles Vernon

Creighton
   WELLS RIVER, Vt. — Charles Vernon Creighton, 86, died Oct. 17 at the St. Johnsbury, VT Health & Rehab.
   Born in Sacramento, Calif., Mr. Creighton was a professional soldier who served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1938 to 1968. He was a nuclear supervisor who served in all three theaters of operation during World War II, receiving the Bronze Star and five Battle Stars.
   Mr. Creighton lived in New Egypt from 1968 to 2002 where he served as vice chairman of the recreation commission for 22 years and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was also a member of the Church of the Assumption and the Knights of Columbus in New Egypt.
   He is survived by his wife, Margaret Creighton; a daughter, Hillary Hunt of Ryegate, Vt.; a son, Christopher Creighton of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; four grandchildren, Thomas, Timothy, Thaddeus and Teresa Hunt; and one great-granddaughter, Anne Belle Hunt.
   A memorial Mass was held at the Church of the Assumption, New Egypt. Burial followed at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant House, 460 W. 41st St., New York City, NY 10036.
Eleanor S. Suydam
   MONROE — Eleanor S. Suydam, 81, died in Monroe Village Care Center on Oct. 17.
   Born in Haddonfield, she was a resident of Pennington for 40 years before moving to Monroe Village last year.
   Ms. Suydam graduated from Pennington Central High School. She was involved in real estate for a number of years, owning her own company, Suydam Realty. She had been a member of the Mercer County Board of Realtors and the Pennington United Methodist Church.
   Daughter of the late Wheldon H. and Effie A. Shivers and wife of the late Robert G. Suydam, she is survived by a sister, Doris S. Hoagland of Allentown; and a brother and sister-in-law, Mervin and Claire Shivers of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews.
   Funeral was held at the Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington. Entombment was in Ewing Church Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pennington First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 101, Pennington, NJ 08534.
Sheila Catherine

Fairchild
   PITTSGROVE — Sheila Catherine Fairchild, 52, died Oct. 18 at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia.
   Born in Trenton, Ms. Fairchild was a 1971 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick and a master’s degree in psychology from Rider University in Lawrenceville.
   She worked as a counselor for the Office of the Public Defender throughout the state of New Jersey. For the last 18 years, she worked in Mercer County, Freehold, Mount Holly, Bridgeton and, most recently, in Gloucester County, where she held the title of assistant chief of investigators.
   Among her many activities, she had been active with the Nottingham Fire Company First Aid Squad, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Washington Township Volunteers and with the Rape and Sexual Assault Program of the YWCA.
   She enjoyed travel, art and collecting fancy hats to match every occasion.
   In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Buckley, who died in 1986, and she is survived by her mother, Doris Carr Buckley; her husband of 15 years, Bradley J. Fairchild; three sons, Shawn Patrick Carr, Justyn Thomas Carr of Orlando, Fla., and Vincent Bradley Fairchild at home; her former husband, John T. Carr of Colorado; one sister, Colleen Ann Hancock and her husband, Gil, of Hamilton Square; and three brothers, Vincent Joseph Buckley II and his wife, Deborah, of North Carolina, Hugh Carr Buckley and his wife, Trish, of Allentown, and Thomas M. Buckley of Robbinsville.
   A memorial service was held at the Freitag Funeral Home, Bridgeton. Interment was private. In the Trenton area, memorial services were held at Princeton University Chapel, Princeton. James F. Homiak Sr.
   WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — James F. Homiak Sr., 59, of Robbinsville died Sunday Oct. 30 at University Medical Center at Princeton.
   He was employed by Prudential Fox Roach, The Trident Group in Cherry Hill and Hamilton.
   He is survived by his wife, Jeannie, and five children, Jim, Alyson, Lauren, Scott and Jill; a daughter-in-law, Janine; two sons-in-law, Brian and Kenny; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Meghan, Paulina, Shannon, Patrick, Luke, Jake and Kevin.
   Funeral was held Tuesday at Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold. Burial followed at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Marlboro.

Mary F. Whitehouse
   WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — Mary F. Whitehouse died Oct. 22 at Capital Health System-Fuld Campus, Trenton.
   Born in Trenton, Mrs. Whitehouse was a lifelong Hamilton resident before moving to Robbinsville one year ago.
   She was a graduate of Hamilton High School West, where she excelled as a field hockey goalie.
   She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and being with her family.
   Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Fedorsak and wife of the late Robert Whitehouse, she is survived by her children, Barry Whitehouse and his wife, Jane, of Lanoka Harbor, Kathy Pirrera and her husband, Keith, of Robbinsville, and Sherry Holder and her husband, Richard, of Hamilton; a sister, Adele B. Fedorsak of Hamilton; her grandchildren, Barry and Brian Whitehouse, Robert Pirrera, and April and Eric Sudol.
   Funeral was held Oct. 26 at Saul Colonial Home, Hamilton Square. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

Edward F. Myers
   TOMS RIVER — Edward F. Myers, 85, of Robbinsville died Oct. 24 at Kensington Nursing Home, Toms River.
   Born in Freeland, Pa., he had lived in Plainfield for 31 years before moving to Robbinsville nine years ago.
   Mr. Myers had worked as the operations manager for U.S. Airways in Newark. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and enjoyed driving and playing the violin.
   He is survived by his wife, Joanne Myers; three sons and daughters-in-law; Thomas and Michele Myers of Allentown, James and Robin Myers of Springfield, Va., and Daniel and Kathy Myers of Atlantic Highlands; a daughter and son-in-law; Jeanne and Jonathon May of Portland, Ore., a sister; Eleanor Lambert of Groton, Conn.; and nine grandchildren; Ryan, Katie, Daniel, Samantha, Max, Dylan, Matthew, Claire and Alex.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 28 at St. John’s Church, Allentown. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
Edward Fleming Sr.
   HAMILTON — Edward Fleming Sr., 79, died Oct. 25 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.
   Mr. Fleming retired in 1989 as a foreman with the New Jersey Department of Education. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and attended St. Hedwig’s Church.
   Son of the late James and Mary Durkalski Fleming and brother of the late James, John, Joseph and Francis Fleming, Mary Steinetz and Helen Holzman, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Stella Suchocki Fleming; sons, Edward and his wife, Janice Fleming Jr., of California, and Bob and his wife, Kathy Fleming, of Bordentown; granddaughters, Melissa Bunting of Toms River, and Jennifer and Tricia Fleming of Robbinsville; a grandson, Brian Fleming of Delran; a great-grandson, Danny Bunting; four sisters-in-law, Florence Fleming, Eleanor Fleming, Sophie Hrabowski and Lillian Szwedo; a niece and her husband, Beverly and Rich Tucci; and several other nieces and nephews.
   Funeral was held at the Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, Hamilton. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the St. Hedwig’s Church. Entombment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton.
Anna K. Nurko
   NEW HANOVER — Anna K. Nurko, 85, died Oct. 25 at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
   Born in Coatesville, Pa., she previously lived in Plainsboro then in Millstone from 1939 to 1990 on the family farm and in Jacobstown for the past 16 years. She owned and operated Nurko Farms in Millstone, where she worked with her husband, George H. Nurko, and other family members for many years.
   Following her husband’s death she worked for Agway in Hightstown and then the East Windsor school district. After her retirement she became a full-time mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
   She was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Trenton, the Sisterhood of Holy Trinity, the Pythian Sisters, the Millstone PTA where she was a past president, the Young at Heart Senior Citizens of Cookstown and the Elite 48 of Bordentown. In later years, she attended the Plumsted Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered her time and talent.
   She loved bingo, travel, dinner theatres, Atlantic City and cooking.
   Daughter of the late Michael and Mary Krukowski and sister of the late Elias, Charles, Michael Krukowski and Estelle Hoffman, she is survived by her son, William M. Nurko and his wife, Clara, of Millstone; three daughters, Georgia N. Poinsett and her husband, David, of Allentown, Mary M. Nurko of Blue Hill, Maine, and Paulinea Johnson and her husband, Roy, of Jacobstown; her grandchildren, Allan and Jennifer McIntosh of Asheville, N.C., Christina and Richard Esandrio of Monroe, Jennifer Poinsett of Lambertville, Jessica and Jamie Mladenoff of Dillsburg, Pa., Patricia and Kevin Hulick of Hamilton, Leslie Johnson and her fiance, Daniel Longyhore, of Wilmington, Del., and Hope Johnson of Allentown, Pa.; her great-grandchildren, Georgianna and Stefania Jo Mladenoff, Graciella Esandrio, and Jacob and Haley Bay McIntosh; and two brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
   The Divine Liturgy was held at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, Trenton. Burial followed in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Hamilton.
