   BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — Irene M. Quicksall, 84, died Monday at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital-Hamilton.
   A lifelong Bordentown and Trenton resident, she was formerly employed by Circle F. Industries as an inside saleswoman.
   Daughter of the late George and Irene Tivador Magyar and wife of the late Charles Quicksall, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. and Kristine Quicksall of Twin Rivers; a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria I. and James King of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Charles J. Quicksall of Bordentown, Glenn and his wife, Janet Quicksall, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., Cara King of Boston, Mass., and Ryan and Ian King, both of Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, Michelle and Justine Quicksall of Atlanta; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Emma Magyar of Columbus; sister Gloria Hvasta of Pine Brook; uncle Louis Tivador; cousin Loretta Haggerty of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Winowicz Funeral Home, 308 Adeline St., Trenton. Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. Basil’s Romanian Catholic Church.
   Burial will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
   Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Saracusta service will be 7 p.m. today and the Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.
James Paul Sloan
   MONROE — James Paul Sloan, 88, died Oct. 28 at Cranbury Center in Monroe Township.
   Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Cranbury for 28 years in the home he built. He then lived in Hightstown from 1986 until 2001. In 2001, he moved to Monroe Township.
   Mr. Sloan was a retired Navy chief petty officer, who served his country from 1935 to 1955. He received the American Defense Medal, American Areas Medal, European-African Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Navy Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Presidential Unit Citation. He served on the following ships: USS Wyoming, USS Abel Pupshor, USS Bernadou, USS Alcor, USS Oregon City, USS Washington, USS Shenandoah and the USS Randolph.
   He retired from RCA in East Windsor, as the head of the maintenance department, in 1983.
   He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hightstown. His leisure time was spent watching the Yankees, working on his cars, listening to country western music and, above all, being with his children and grandchildren.
   Mr. Sloan was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Palumbo Sloan in 1986, two brothers, John and Robert A. Sloan, and two sisters, Anna Sloan and Josephine Sloan Recke. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancylynn and Jack Houvig of Hightstown and Sandra and Russell Bowen, with whom he lived; four grandchildren, Nicole and Ricardo Diaz of Monroe Township and Jamie and Kristy Houvig of Hightstown; a great-granddaughter, Genesis Diaz Hall; a sister, Clare Sloan Best of Scranton, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Angie Palumbo Linke of Jamesburg; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
   Services were held Wednesday at A.S. Cole Funeral Home, Cranbury, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Hightstown. Entombment was in Princeton Memorial Park, Washington Township.

Anna K. Nurko
   NORTH HANOVER — Anna K. Nurko, 85, died Oct. 25 at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
   Born in Coatesville, Pa., she previously lived in Plainsboro, then in Millstone Township from 1939 to 1990 on the family farm, and the past 16 years in Jacobstown.
   She owned and operated Nurko Farms in Millstone, where she worked with her husband, George H. Nurko, and other family members for many years.
   Following her husband’s death she worked for Agway in Hightstown, and then for the East Windsor school system. After her retirement, she became a full-time mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
   She was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity in Trenton, the Sisterhood of Holy Trinity, the Pythian Sisters, the Young at Heart Senior Citizens of Cookstown and the Elite 48 of Bordentown.
   She was past president of the Millstone PTA.
   In later years she attended the Plumsted Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered.
   She loved cooking, bingo, travel, dinner theaters and Atlantic City.
   She was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Krukowski and sister of the late Elias, Charles, Michael Krukowski and Estelle Hoffman. She is survived by her son, William M. Nurko and his wife, Clara, of Millstone; three daughters, Georgia N. Poinsett and her husband, David of Allentown, Mary M. Nurko of Blue Hill, Maine, and Paulinea Johnson and her husband, Roy, of Jacobstown; grandchildren Allan and Jennifer McIntosh of Asheville, N.C., Christina and Richard Esandrio of Monroe, Jennifer Poinsett of Lambertville, Jessica and Jamie Mladenoff of Dillsburg, Pa., Patricia and Kevin Hulick of Hamilton, Leslie Johnson and her fiancée, Daniel Longyhore, of Wilmington, Del., and Hope Johnson of Allentown, Pa.; great-grandchildren Georgianna and Stefania Jo Mladenoff, Graciella Esandrio, and Jacob and Haley Bay McIntosh; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She also is survived by a dear friend, Ruthann Hensley, and many other friends.
   The Divine Liturgy was served Monday at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, Trenton. Burial followed in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Hamilton.
   Panachyda services were conducted Sunday at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, Bordentown.

Helen Barthelemy
   HAMILTON — Helen Barthelemy, 84, died Saturday in the Compassionate Care Unit in St. Francis Medical Center.
   Born in Falmouth, Mass., she lived in the Mercerville-Princeton area most of her life. She retired in 1974 as the executive director at the Princeton Home Health Aids.
   Daughter of the late George and Sarah Gammage, sister to the late Louise Justice, Mary Finch and Lillian Stout, and wife of the late John J. Barthelemy, she is survived by a son, John D. Barthelemy of Hightstown; a daughter and son-in-law, Sally and William E. Archer Jr. of Ewing Township; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Marie Barthelemy of Clearwater, Fla., and Wilma Cunningham of Lawrenceville, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
   A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hamilton. Burial was in the Princeton Cemetery.
   Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Fund in Lawrenceville.
   Arrangements were under the direction of the Hartmann Memorial Home, Mercerville.
Herman McDaniels
   HIGHTSTOWN — Herman McDaniels Jr., 50, died Monday at his residence.
   He was born in Trenton and had resided all of his life in the Trenton area. He was employed by the Hibbert Group in Robbinsville.
   He is survived by his father, Herman McDaniels Sr. of Southhampton; his mother, Claire Keeler of Leesburg, Fla,; a brother, Melvin McDaniels of Westampton; four sisters, Linda Stewart of Medford, Brenda Lee Denko of New Egypt, Theresa Silvasi of Pemberton Township and Diana McDaniels of Shamong Township.; and several nieces and nephews.
   The funeral will be held 11 a.m. today at the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.
   Memorials may be made to Faith Assembly Church, 2310 Spruce St., Ewing, NJ.
