Cranbury residents will get their say Tuesday when they cast votes for governor and Township Committee.
One committee seat is up for grabs this year, with former committee member Republican Wayne Wittman and Democrat Angie Cook vying for the three-year seat. The seat is held by Mayor Becky Beauregard, who is not seeking re-election.
Polls will be open at the Cranbury School cafeteria from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
On the ballot for the four-year governor’s slot is, Democrat Jon Corzine, Republican Doug Forrester, Constantino Rozzo of the Socialist Party, Angela Lariscy of the Socialist Workers Party, Hector Castillo for Education not Corruption, Wesley Bell for the Cut Waste Party, Matthew Thieke for the Green Party, Jeffrey Pawlowski for the Libertarian Party, Michael Latigona for One New Jersey and Edward Forchion for the Legalize Marijuana Party.
Also on the ballot is the Assembly race for the two open seats for the 14th District. Incumbent Democrat Linda Greenstein and Democrat Daniel Benson, incumbent Republican Bill Baroni and Republican Michael Paquette, and Libertarian Party candidates Jason Scheurer and William Hunsicker are vying for the seats.
For the county clerk position a five-year term is incumbent Democrat Elaine Flynn and Republican Joseph Sinagria.
Two seats on the Chosen Board of Freeholders will also be on the ballot. The Democrats, David Crabiel and Camille Fernicola, are seeking re-election. Republicans Jay Boxwell Jr. and Andrew Tidd are also seeking three-year terms.
Voters will be asked to decide on two constitutional amendments. The first question would establish the office of lieutenant governor, to be elected with the governor during the next general election. The lieutenant governor would serve as acting governor if necessary and would perform duties required of the governor.
Citizens also will vote on a constitutional amendment that expands the use of revenue authorized under the Corporation Business Tax to provide grants for the cost of air pollution control equipment. The equipment would reduce emissions from diesel engines.
