Elmer Earle Nevius, 89, died Nov. 3 at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Hopewell, he was a lifelong resident of the Hopewell area.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Son of the late Elmer and Cora Bergen Nevius, husband of the late Virginia, father of the late Bruce and Barry Nevius, and brother of the late Dorothy Boyer, Edna Clark, Verna Witcher, Hazel True, Pauline Hooper, and Lester Nevius, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverlee and Lloyd Tucker and Carol and Glen Waldron; six grandchildren, Adam Tucker, Melissa Tucker, Baron and Tasha Holland, Glen Waldron, Troy Tucker and Marcus Waldron; two great-grandchildren, Jada and Autumn Holland; a sister-in-law, Alice Nevius; a brother-in-law, Albert Witcher; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Second Calvary Baptist Church, 69 Columbia Ave., Hopewell.
Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. The Rev. William S. Davis, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be at Stoutsburg Cemetery.
