MONROE Democratic candidates for Township Council Henry Miller, Gerald Tamburro and Joanne Connolly swept to victory Tuesday.
Mr. Miller, who ran unopposed, was the top vote getter, receiving 3,972 votes in Ward 1. Mr. Tamburo received 3,564 votes, defeating Republican candidate Steve Williams in Ward 2; and Ms. Connolly received 1,826, defeating Republican Carlos Williams in Ward 3.
Local candidates weren’t the only Democrats to come up big. Voters supported Jon Corzine for governor with 8,238 votes, and Linda Greenstein and Dan Benson for assembly with 8,270 and 7,338 votes respectively.
