Ronald Pagodin
   HAMILTON — Ronald Pagodin, 65, died Sunday, Nov. 6, at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.
   Born in Roebling, Mr. Pagodin resided most of his life in Hamilton Township. He was a machinist for David Sarnoff Research Center in Princeton where he retired after over 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Hamilton Elks Lodge 2262, American Legion Post 313, member of the NRA, and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
   Son of the late John and Mary Potpinka Pagodin, and brother of the late Raymond Pagodin, he is survived by his wife Connie Nannie Pagodin of Hamilton Township; two daughters and one son-in-law, Terri A. and John B. Thompson of Piscataway, and Dawn Pagodin of Hamilton Township; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald L. and Theresa A. Pagodin of Hamilton Township; two grandchildren, Timothy and Alexander Pagodin; three brothers, Richard of Hamilton Township, and Edward and Robert, both of Roebling; two sisters, Nancy Rynne of North Cape May, and Ann Pitman of Burlington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
   Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Thursday, at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton Township. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Hamilton Township. Calling hours will be 9:30 a.m. today until time of service at the funeral home.

Nilla Schwec
   ROEBLING — Nilla Schwec, 81, died Thursday, Nov. 3.
   She was born in Ukraine and resided in New York and Florida before moving to Roebling 2½ years ago. Ms. Schwec was a former member of St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Brooklyn.
   She was the wife of the late Ivan Schwec and sister of the late Vitaly Rodenko. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lidia and Nick Ivahnenko of Roebling; son and daughter-in-law, Valdemar and Alexandria Schwec of Amelia Island, Fla.; four grandchildren and spouses, Elizabeth and William Bernardo, Gregory and Kristina Ivahnenko, Jessica and Lauren Schwec; a great-granddaughter, McKenna Bernardo and two nephews.
   Funeral services were held Monday at St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 839 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville. Burial was in St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, South Bound Brook.

John Varava
   BURLINGTON CITY — John Varava, 87, died Thursday, Nov. 3, in Lourdes Medical Center, Willingboro.
   Mr. Varava was born in Roebling and moved to Burlington in 1940. He had been a steel worker for John A. Roebling and Sons, in Roebling, for many years. He then worked as a landscaper and maintenance worker for the Burlington County Bridge Commission, in Burlington City.
   He was a longtime and devoted parishioner of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Burlington, where he also served as a church usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 589 in Burlington. He was a Burlington City councilman for 24 years. He also belonged to the Burlington Elks Lodge 996 and the Endeavor Fire Company. He was a pianist who had played with several musical combos in the area, and belonged to Musicians’ Local 336.
   He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary (nee Horn); his daughter, Dawn Varava of Voorhees; a close family friend, Alisa Stein of Voorhees; his brother, Harry Varava of Roebling; his niece, Dorothy Luvchuk of Roebling; his nephew, Alex Varava and family of Florence; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Henrietta and George Wargo and family of Burlington.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Paul’s Church, East Union Street, Burlington, with entombment following in Laurel Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
   Donations made in his memory to The American Heart Association, 600 S. White Horse Pike, Audubon, 08106, would be appreciated by his family.
Mary C. DeMarco
   TRENTON — Mary C. DeMarco, 87, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Mercer County Geriatric Center, Hamilton.
   Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong resident. Ms. DeMarco was a member of The Roman Society and the former Monteleonese Society.
   She was predeceased by her parents, Louis DeMarco and Giuditta Stecchiotti DeMarco; and sisters and a brother, Antoinette DeMarco, Angelina Conti, Lucy H. DeMarco and Isidore DeMarco. Ms. DeMarco is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Barbara DeMarco of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Angelina DeMarco of Bordentown; nephews, Henry Conti, Richard and wife Stephanie DeMarco, and Louis and wife Disney DeMarco; nieces, Virginia and husband Dominic Caruso, Judy and husband Robert Miller and Irma and husband James Fahy; and several great nieces and great nephews.
   The funeral was held Monday, from Gruerio Funeral Home, 311 Chestnut Avenue, Trenton. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of the Angels Parish/ St. Joachim Church 20-56 Butler St., Trenton.
   Interment followed in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.
Arthur B. Friend
   WILLINGBORO — Arthur B. Friend, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro.
   Born in Latrobe, Pa., Mr. Friend resided in the Trenton area for over 40 years; and lived in Ft. Pierce, Fla. for 20 years after his retirement. Mr. Friend was a chef while living in this area; and was a past member of VFW and DAV, both here and in Florida. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
   He is survived by four children and their spouses, Byron and Ruth Friend of Trenton, Sheri and Paul Segars of Hamilton, Kimberly Friend and Mike Ward of Bordentown, and Ronald and Tricia Friend of El Dorado Hills, Calif; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held Friday at Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown. Interment will be private in Galva, Ill.

John J. Donoher
   HAMILTON — John J. Donoher Jr., 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 1 at St. Francis Medical Center.
   Mr. Donoher was born in Trenton and was a lifelong Hamilton resident. Mr. Donoher was a Navy veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a retired employee of Ross Electric, and formerly employed at New American Electric and Cooper Electric. He was also a member of the Electrical Workers Union.
   Son of the late John J. and Johanna Hayes Donoher Sr., he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Eugene D. and Mary Ann Donoher of Bordentown Township; his two sisters, Ann Lawrence of Bordentown Township and Elizabeth Braun of Burlington Township; and many nieces and nephews.
   Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Yardville.

Robert C. Kranch
   MANAHAWKIN — Robert C. Kranch, 64, died Monday, Oct. 31, at Deborah Heart & Lung Hospital, Browns Mills.
   Born in Coaldale, Pa., he lived in Hopewell before moving to Manahawkin 12 years ago. He was an office manager/estimator for an electrical contractor in Ship Bottom.
   He was a member of the Elks in Manahawkin, past president of the Hopewell Township Little League, served on the board of St. Lawrence Rehab in Lawrenceville, and worked 36 years for Mobil Oil Research in Pennington.
   Predeceased by his son, Robert Brian Kranch, and sister, Doris Houck, he is survived by his wife, Joanne (nee Pickarski); son, Bret Smith of Burlington; daughter, Karen and husband Jason Kmiec of Bordentown; brother, Daniel Dale Kranch; sister, Phyllis Hook of Pottstown, Pa; and grandchildren Kyle Smith, and Emily and Bryan Kmiec.
   A funeral service was held Saturday at St. Peter at The Light Church, Barnegat Light. Interment followed church services at Highland Cemetery in Hopewell.

Helen E. Chenkus
   BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — Helen E. Chenkus Fellinger, 91, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Capital Health System at Fuld.
   Born in Trenton, Mrs. Fellinger lived most of her life as a Trenton and Hamilton Township resident before moving, with her daughter, to Bordentown Township in 1997. She was a member of the Bordentown Seniors.
   She was daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Pawlowska Chenkus, widow of Anthony Fellinger, and mother of the late Robert J. Fellinger. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Pfeiffer of Bordentown Township; her son-in-law, Stephen T. Pfeiffer of Ewing Township; her grandson, Stephen Pfeiffer of Ewing Township; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, all of California; and many nieces and nephews. Private family funeral services were held at the Winowicz Funeral Home, Trenton with the Rev. Henry Militante from the Church of the Holy Cross. Burial was in the Holy Cross parish cemetery in Hamilton Township.

Louise Dockery
   TRENTON — Louise Dockery, 67, died Oct. 27 at Capital Health System-Mercer.
   She was born in Laurinburg, N.C. She lived in Trenton over 35 years. She was a retired employee of Mercer Medical Center and was a former employee of Capital Linens and Circle F. Industries.
   She was the daughter of the late Wilbert Short, sister of the late Alexander "Sonny" Ratliff, and mother of the late Ernestine "Tina" Dockery. Ms. Dockery is survived by her mother, Holly J. Short of Ewing; two daughters and a son-in-law, Monetha Dockery of Willingboro, and Lisa and Mark Edwards of Brown Mills; three sons, Robert Dockery of Bordentown, Roger Dockery of Florida, and Baashar and Noreka Muhammud of Stone Mountain, Ga; a daughter-in-law, Pam Dockery of Trenton; a sister, Ann McNeil of Georgia; a cousin, Mary Gresham of North Carolina; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a special friend, Sheri Little; and a host of other relatives and friends.
   Funeral services were held Saturday at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton.
Irene M. Quicksall
   BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — Irene M. Quicksall, 84, died Monday, Oct. 31, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital-Hamilton.
   A lifelong Bordentown and Trenton resident, she was formerly employed by Circle F. Industries as an inside saleswoman.
   Daughter of the late George and Irene Tivador Magyar and wife of the late Charles Quicksall, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. and Kristine Quicksall of Twin Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria I. and James King of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Charles J. Quicksall of Bordentown, Glenn and his wife Janet Quicksall of East Stroudsberg, Pa., Cara King of Boston, Mass., and Ryan and Ian King, both of Atlanta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Michelle and Justine Quicksall, both of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Emma Magyar of Columbus; one sister, Gloria Hvasta of Pine Brook; one uncle, Louis Tivador; one cousin, Loretta Haggerty of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Winowicz Funeral Home, 308 Adeline St., Trenton. Requiem Liturgy was celebrated St. Basil’s Romanian Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
Leila Newell
   BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP — Leila Newell, 99, died Monday, Oct. 31, at the Masonic Home of New Jersey in Burlington Township.
   Born in Newark, she had resided in the Bordentown area for many years. She relocated to Naples, Fla. for 10 years, and then returned to Burlington Township approximately 12 years ago. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bordentown and the Bordentown Chapter 257 O.E.S.
   Wife to the late Joseph C. Newell, and mother to the late C. Bennett Newell, she is survived by a sister, Verna Bertrand of Burlington Township; a granddaughter, Diane Andreozzi; and a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Andreozzi, both of Wallingford, Conn.
   Friends were invited to a graveside service at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bordentown Cemetery, 210 Crosswicks Road, Bordentown.
   Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown.
