Police Beat for the week of Nov. 10

BORDENTOWN CITY
   Police apprehended five men wanted for contempt of court over the weekend before Halloween.
   According to police, officers involved in the department’s Proactive Task Force compiled a list of known warrant offenders who were suspected to be in the city and set out to round them up on Oct. 28 and 29. Four men were charged on the Oct. 28 and one the following day.
   On Oct. 28, at approximately 7 p.m., police charged 27-year-old Tony Allen of Bordentown Township, who was wanted on $4,174 worth of contempt warrants out of Trenton, Mount Holly and Burlington Township. Police said officers spotted him walking along Crosswicks Street and apprehended him. He was turned over to the Mount Holly Police Department.
   Around 8 p.m., police spotted 21-year-old Trenton resident Thomas Coleman walking on West Burlington Street and charged him with contempt. Mr. Coleman was wanted on a $750 warrant from East Windsor. At 9:30 p.m., police spotted 40-year-old Derrick West walking along Mary Street and charged him in connection with a $750 Trenton warrant and turned over to Trenton police. Around 11 p.m., police charged 25-year-old city resident Michael Handy in connection with $1,325 worth of contempt warrants. He was lodged in Burlington County Jail in lieu of bail.
   The following night, police spotted 36-year-old city resident Fabian Davis walking along Farnsworth Avenue around 10 p.m. He was charged with contempt in connection with a $1,005 warrant issued by Trenton. He was turned over to the Trenton Police Department.
FLORENCE
   Police charged a light rail rider with possession of a handgun and possession of hollow-point bullets last week after officers heard that the man allegedly had not paid to get on the train.
   According to police, officers were sent to the Florence River Line station around 2:30 p.m. Nov. 2 because 18-year-old Andre Collins of Trenton allegedly boarded the train without paying. While talking to Mr. Collins, police said, officers noticed a 9mm handgun sticking out of Mr. Collins’ waistband. Officers then found a clip containing hollow-point bullets in Mr. Collins’ pocket, police said.
   Police charged Mr. Collins and took him to the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.

   Officers broke up a fight on Nov. 5 and ultimately charged 21-year-old Charles Siegfried of Moorestown with a pair of weapons offenses.
   According to police, officers were sent to a fight on Burlington-Columbus Road around 12:45 a.m. and found that Mr. Siegfried had a 16-inch metal baton that he allegedly wielded during the fight. He was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful means and taken to the Burlington County in lieu of $5,000 bail.
