Hopewell staff members, enjoyed creating their own scarecrow masterpiece to be used as Halloween decorations at the children’s homes
Richard A. Weidel, President of Weidel Realtors, and William J. Carlton, Branch Manager of the Weidel Hopewell office, would like to congratulate Hopewell Township on their 250th anniversary and thank them for requesting Weidel Realtors be featured during the October 22nd celebration.
While the day was damp and overcast, the spirits of the attendees and vendors was upbeat. All who attended enjoyed a day of ‘Colonial Fun.’ There were games for the kids, crafts, antiques and historical artifacts. Performances by a magician, folk quartet, fife & drum band, period dancers and a military reenactment troupe entertained those in attendance. Admission was free, and the Red Cross was on-hand to accept any donations. A highlight of the event was the scarecrow-making tent, courtesy of the volunteer staff of Weidel Hopewell.
Approached a few weeks before the Celebration, the event coordinator asked the Weidel Hopewell office to once again add their time and talent in demonstrating and helping to build scarecrows. The coordinator arranged for many bags of clothing to be used as material and the volunteers sorted the clothes into usable piles of pants and shirts. Children, with help from their families and Weidel Hopewell staff members, enjoyed creating their own scarecrow masterpiece to be used as Halloween decorations at the children’s homes. Despite the wind and driving rain, a great sense of fun and camaraderie was present throughout the day.
"Weidel Hopewell is so happy to have been a part of this historic and amazing event," said Bill Carlton, Branch Manager. "Thanks to all who came out and participated."
