Charlotte Hughes Murphy

   Charlotte Hughes Murphy of Pennington died Nov. 10 in Princeton.
   Born in Trenton, where she lived until she married and moved to Pennington, she was a graduate of Trenton High School and Rider College, from which she received an associate degree.
   A longtime member of the Pennington United Methodist Church and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the church, she volunteered at Mercer Hospital in Trenton for 25 years, served as president of the Pennington Women’s Club and was a member of the Pennington Business and Professional Association. For the past eight years, she helped at her daughter’s store, The Front Porch of Pennington.
   Predeceased by her parents Thomas Hughes and Ethel David Hughes, a sister Doris Hughes Brunner, a brother John David Hughes and her husband Norbert Ronald Murphy, she is survived by a daughter Christine A. Murphy and son-in-law Jon C. Butler and a son and daughter-in-law David and Debbie Murphy, all of Pennington; and three grandchildren, Kaitlin Murphy, Kevin Murphy and Murf Butler.
   A memorial service will be held at the Pennington United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m.
   Interment will be private.

   Arrangements are by the Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington.
