Fox Rothschild’s Princeton office has announced the following:
Jonathan R. Lagarenne recently joined the firm as special counsel in the corporate department. His practice focuses on international and domestic commercial transactions with an emphasis on engineering, construction, and manufacturing.
Alexander Wixted has joined as an associate in the corporate department.
Additionally, Elaine C. Britt, Lawrence Cohen, Frank E. Derby, Patrick H. Higgins, Burton J. Jaffe and David Restaino have been elected partners.
The law firm of Hill Wallack has added three new associates to its Princeton office:
Jae H. Cho, general litigation division, will concentrate his practice in trusts and estates and general litigation. Mr. Cho is a resident of Princeton.
Brian J. McIntyre, community association law practice group, concentrating in the areas of community association, commercial law and assessment collection. Mr. McIntyre is a resident of Ewing.
And John R. Tatulli, of West Long Branch, in its land use division. He is a resident of West Long Branch.
Princeton resident Michael A. Rambert, an attorney at Parker McCay, was elected and sworn in as president-elect of the Garden State Bar Association. As president-elect, he will assist the current president for the remainder of her term and will subsequently serve as president for the 2006-2007 term.
The Garden State Bar Association functions primarily for the purpose of enhancing, improving and mainstreaming the status of the African-American and minority attorneys in New Jersey. Mr. Rambert has been an active member of the association for four years.
At Parker McCay, Mr. Rambert concentrates his practice in all aspects of real estate development and redevelopment. Parker McCay, headquartered in Marlton, has local offices in Lawrence.
The late Ruth Rabstein, a founder of Pellettieri, Rabstein & Altman Attorneys at Law, was recently honored by The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People as corporate honoree for her service in the greater Trenton community. Ms. Rabstein was one of the few females licensed to practice law in New Jersey in the late 1930s, and throughout her 56-year career helped other women progress in this field. She was an honorary board member of the Board of Directors for Greenwood House, a member of the National Board of Governors of the American Jewish Committee and its national Leadership Council, and Vice President and Board Member of the Jewish Federation of Mercer and Bucks Counties.
Twenty attorneys from Fox Rothschild LLP have been chosen as "the best" in the nation by their fellow attorneys for publication in "The Best Lawyers in America 2006." Published biennially since 1983, the list represents 57 specialties in all 50 states and are compiled through an exhaustive peer review survey.
Of the 20 Fox Rothschild attorneys named, those based in the Princeton office are: Steven S. Goldenberg, who specializes in energy law; Jeffrey M. Pollock, environmental law and insurance law; Barbara A. Ulrichsen, family law; and Jonathan D. Weiner, health care law.
FINANCIAL SERVICES
The National Conference of CPA Practitioners recently installed a new president and new members of the board of directors for 20052006. Among the new board members is Princeton resident Vito Mastro, who practices in New York City. He has served as the conference’s New Jersey chapter president and is active in the New York City chapter. Also active in his hometown, he is an officer for the Saint Vincent De Paul Society and the West Windsor Senior Citizens, and serves as the financial advisor for the Princeton-Mercer Chapter of the United Way.
Amper, Politziner & Mattia, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, has announced the following individuals have joined the Princeton office as supervisors:
Patrick H. O’Reilly Jr. In the firm’s tax department; Rita Linterno in the insurance industry group; and Charles D. Miller II in the audit and accounting department.
The Mercadien Group has announced that Kevin M. McCollum joins as a managing director of both Mercadien Consulting and The Mercadien Group. In this capacity, he will direct the firm’s efforts in the long-term care and multi-family housing practice. Most recently an executive staff member of a large assisted living facility, he brings extensive experience in operational analyses, financial forecasts and feasibility studies for both profit and not-for-profit long-term care providers. He is also a speaker on topics relating to seniors housing and healthcare facilities.
Mr. McCollum resides in New Hope, Pa., with his wife and four sons.
MARKETING
Digital Band Expressions has promoted Bonnie Schlangen to director, interactive programs. In this newly created position she is responsible for directing the activities of the marketing programs’ management staff, ensuring that clients are achieving their marketing objectives. Ms. Schlangen is a Princeton resident.
Based in Kingston, DBE specializes in advanced search engine marketing programs, including search engine advertising (pay-per-click marketing) and search engine image protection programs.
Interlink Healthcare Communications, a full service healthcare advertising and communications agency based in Lawrence, has announced the following additions to its professional staff:

PRODUCTION
Snack Factory Inc., of Skillman, captured two of 21 categories in a new products competition sponsored by Kosherfest, the largest international kosher food and food service trade show, in New York City. The Snack Factory won Best New Pareve Item and Best New Cookie Cracker Item for its Original and Everything Pretzel Crisps ultra-thin crunchy pretzel crackers. Winners were selected based on criteria that included uniqueness, taste, sale-ability, best in category and retail price point. Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps are available at area grocery stores.
TECHNOLOGY
Two scientists at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) were recently recognized by the American Physical Society for contributions made in their field:
Plainsboro resident Elena Belova received the society’s Katherine E. Weimer Award for her pioneering analytical and numerical contributions to the fundamental physics of plasmas the hot ionized gas that serves as the fuel for nuclear fusion. The award is given to a woman physicist in the early years of her career. Dr. Belova moved to the U.S. from Moscow in 1992 and received a doctorate degree in plasma physics from Dartmouth College in 1997. She joined PPPL as a post doctoral research fellow the same year. She currently is a research physicist in PPPL’s theory department.
Nathaniel Fisch, a professor at Princeton University and a scientist at PPPL, has been named the recipient of the James Clerk Maxwell Prize in recognition of theoretical development of radio frequency-driven current in plasmas and expanding the understanding of wave-plasma interactions.
Dr. Fisch is professor of astrophysical sciences and director of the program in plasma physics at Princeton Univesity. At PPPL, he is the associate director for academic affairs and the head of the laboratory’s Hall Thruster experiment. He is a resident of Princeton Borough.
HEALTH & MEDICINE
Dr. Michael Eleff has been named medical director at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey – Hamilton located at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton. CINJ is part of an elite network of 39 comprehensive cancer centers nationwide that are leaders in cancer treatment, research and education.
Dr. Eleff has been working with the CINJ – New Brunswick to bring the expertise of specialists and services to patients closer to home. CINJ specialists in breast, lung, genitourinary and gastrointestinal cancers are now seeing patients at CINJ Hamilton.
Dr. Eleff is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and brings a blend of clinical and administrative experience to this position. He lives with his wife and five children in Highland Park.
Sue Bonfield of Montgomery has been named vice-president of legal and regulatory affairs at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills. A graduate of the Peddie School, Brown University and the University of Maryland School of Law, she’s been practicing law for 18 years. Ms. Bonfield has been with Fox Rothschild in the firm’s Princeton office for the past eight years.
She and her husband, David, have two children, Luke and Carrie.
Pharmacopeia has been named Large Company of the Year for 2005 by the New Jersey Technology Council. The NJTC’s annual awards event recognizes outstanding New Jersey-based companies in myriad technology sectors.
Located in Cranbury, Pharmacopeia is presently advancing multiple internal therapeutic programs focused primarily on immunobiology and immunological diseases. The company’s most advanced internal programs include JAK3 inhibitors designed to help patients suffering from diseases like psoriasis, multiple sclerosis and transplant rejection.
GOOD DEEDS
Yardville National Bank has donated $10,000 to fund the supplemental education program of the Boys & Girls Club of Trenton and Mercer County. The club’s after school program helps potentially at-risk students achieve their full potential by providing enrichment activities, including technology skills, mentoring, and the "Smart Moves" Intervention program.
The Boys and Girls Club of Trenton & Mercer County has been providing programs and services to the youth of greater Trenton since 1937.
Lynette Marsicano, of Manville, and Tammy Brucculeri, of Hillsborough, are two of the 51 associates featured on a limited edition Cheerios box designed to honor ShopRite associates who took part in a special weeklong competition tied to National Hunger Awareness Day. The store is committed to fighting hunger in the community through the ShopRite Partners In Caring program. The limited edition box is the fifth in a series, but the first time ShopRite Associates have appeared on the front of the box.
The Borden Perlman Agency golf team Douglas Borden, Kelly Myers, Paul McArthur and Ward Bauman finished first at the New Jersey Chubb Charity Golf Tournament recently held at the Canoe Brook Golf Course in Summit. The team was awarded a $10,000 prize and went on to compete in the final round of the Chubb Charity Challenge Golf Tournament at Half Moon Bay, Calif., where they won an additional $6,000. The team’s designated charity, the Rescue Mission of Trenton, reaped the rewards.

For the sixth consecutive year, The Mercadien Group employees and staff participated in a walk raising over $3,000 for CancerCare. CancerCare is dedicated to providing information, emotional support and practical help to anyone touched by cancer. The nonprofit organization receives no funding from state or federal government agencies, and this year’s walk raised over $42,000 for the national organization.
RESEARCH
Mathematica Policy Research Inc. recently announced the appointment of senior fellow Frank Potter, a Princeton Junction resident, as associate director of statistical services in the surveys and information services division. He will now be responsible for mentoring and supervising statisticians in the firm’s Princeton office. Mr. Potter joined the firm in 1996. His career as a statistician going back to 1972, having worked in academia, industry, government, and, for 16 years at Research Triangle Institute.
In the same division, Amy Johnson was named associate director of survey research. She will now be responsible for mentoring and supervising survey researchers in education, labor, welfare, early childhood, and nutrition policy studies. Ms. Johnson, who joined Mathematica in 1997, specializes in studying at-risk youth and education interventions.
Mathematica, a nonpartisan firm, conducts policy research and surveys for federal and state governments, foundations, and private-sector clients. The employee-owned company has offices in Princeton, Washington, D.C., and Cambridge, Mass., and conducts studies of education, early childhood policies, health care, welfare, employment, and nutrition programs.
REAL ESTATE
NAI Global has announced it has graduated the first class of brokers from the University of NAI Global. The inaugural class of 63 brokers attended three days of intense training, with a final exam on the fourth day. Program topics included quantum sales and leasing, utilization of space, industrial building construction, shopping center design and economics, and much more. NAI Global is an international commercial real estate network with over 300 offices worldwide. Local offices include NAI Fennelly in Hamilton and NAI Eric Bram & Co. in North Brunswick.
