Mary Dwier
   LAWRENCE — Mary M. Dwier, 102, died Sunday at Morris Hall.
   Born on the family farm in Pemberton, Mrs. Dwier was raised and educated in Pemberton. She later lived in Hamilton for over 60 years until moving to Lawrenceville nine years ago. Mrs. Dwier was a graduate of the Pemberton school system and Trenton State Teachers College. She was a teacher in the Pemberton Borough school system, leaving to raise her family. She later was employed by the Bureau of Children’s Services – State of New Jersey, retiring as head clerk in 1973 after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Togetherness Club of Holy Angels Church and the Philomathean Sorority. She was known as the "puzzle lady" to her friends at Morris Hall.
   Daughter of late John W. and Ellen Beakey Meaney, and sister of the late Elizabeth Meaney, Michael Meaney and Catherine Meaney Bowen, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dale O. and Ette Dwier of Groveville; two grandchildren, Dale O. Dwier Jr. of Redondo Beach, Calif. and Lynnette Plutchok of Florence; five step-grandchildren, including Douglas Suessegger Sr.; also, many step-great-grandchildren, including a special step-great-grandson, Douglas Suessegger Jr.; and also, many nieces and nephews.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Morris Hall, 1 Bishops Drive, Lawrenceville. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mount Holly. Arrangements under the direction of the M. William Murphy Funeral Home
Shirley E. Matney
   TOMS RIVER — Shirley E. Matney, 71, of Bordentown City, died Sunday at the Kensington Manor Nursing Home, in Toms River.
   Born in Fieldsboro, she had lived in the Bordentown area for the last 40 years. She worked as a medical secretary and later for Trenton Psychiatric Hospital. She loved to bake, always had a smile and an had an unforgettable personality.
   She is survived by her husband, Donald R. Matney, two sons; Don Matney of Bordentown and Ron Matney of Delran. Three daughters and two sons-in-law; Debbie and Bob Clemens of Bordentown Township, Cindy and Will Alustiza of Bordentown City and Diane Matney of Bordentown City. A sister; Fran Miller of Bordentown City and 11 grandchildren; Bobby, Keith, Courtney and Brent Clemens; Jason, Chris, Austin and Owen Alustiza; Donald, Guilia and Brittany Matney.
   Funeral Services will be today, Thursday, 11 a.m. at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown with Rev. Tony Mangiaracina of the new Life Christian Assembly Church of Levittown officiating. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Raymond A. Lewallen
   BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP — Raymond A. Lewallen, 80, died Friday at Compassionate Care Hospice.
   Born in Trenton, he had resided all his life in this area. He was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired as a tool and dye maker for the Stokes Manufacturing of Trenton. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bordentown, the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a YMCA swimming instructor and was a former crossing guard at Peter Muschal School. He was honored for his over 60 years of service with the Boy Scouts of America with the title of District Unit Commissioner.
   He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Debbie of Jacksonville, Fla., Ken and Marilyn of Lumberton and Jim and Carol of Bordentown; a brother, Leroy, of Hamilton; two sisters, Ruth Wilcox of Lambertville and Evelyn Klink; grandchildren, Dawn, Danny, Lynnmarie, Donna and Kenny; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Huber-Moore Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown. Interment followed in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
   Memorials may be made to either the First Baptist Church, Boy Scouts of America or Disabled American Veterans.
Francis R. Fitzpatrick
   MANSFIELD — Francis R. "Bob" Fitzpatrick, 77, formerly of Burlington City, died Friday, in Samaritan Hospice at Virtua Hospital, Mount Holly.
   Mr. Fitzpatrick was born in Burlington and remained a lifelong resident until moving to Columbus in recent years. He was a graduate of Trenton Catholic Boys High Schooland a graduate of Villanova University with a Bachelor’s degree in economics. Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation as a right of way negotiator, retiring in 1991. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Paul’s Church in Burlington and a member for over 50 years of the Knights of Columbus, Council 589.
   Son of the late Francis X. and the late Mary O’Brien Fitzpatrick, he is survived by his wife, Mary L. (nee Valvardi); his son, Shawn of Springfield Township and Shawn’s fiancee, Pamela Prisco; his daughter, Colleen Fitzpatrick of Merchantville; his sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Robert Fastow of Burlington City.
   A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, East Union Street, Burlington. Burial will be private and held at his family’s convenience.
   Donations made in Bob’s memory to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 or to St. Paul’s Church Renovation Fund, 223 E. Union St., Burlington, NJ 08016 would be appreciated by his family.
James F. Schaefer
   AMBLER, Pa. — James F. Schaefer, 93, died Thursday, Nov. 10 at Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler, Pa.
   James was born in Trenton on Sept. 17, 1912. He was a resident of Amber, Pa, formerly of Robbinsville and Bordentown. He attended schools in Bordentown Township. He was formerly employed as a machinist for Rohm and Haas for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy with the rank of Gunner’s Mate Third Class. He was a member of the PT Boaters while in the Navy.
   He was the husband of the late Marion C. (Soden) Schaefer and son of the late August Adolf and Elizabeth (Dawson) Schaefer. He is survived by one daughter, M. Carolyn Boggs of Ambler, Pa; three grandchildren, Louis J., Lee J. and Loretta Boggs; and five great-grandchildren, Robert T., Julianna R., Liam D., DeAnna and Mary Kate Boggs. He was also predeceased by a brother, August Adolph Schaefer, Jr.
   The funeral was held Tuesday at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, Pa. Interment followed in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA. Lorraine Soriero
   TRENTON — Lorraine Patricia Buckley Soriero, 51, died Nov. 8 at Compassionate Care Hospice .
   Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. Ms. Soriero was formerly employed for several years for the Rev. Keith Marshall at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Trenton and was employed as a custodian at Bordentown Regional High School in Bordentown.
   Daughter of the late Doris Todd Buckley, and niece of the late Florence Forker, she is survived by her husband of 10 years, Michael Frank Soriero; a special aunt, Millie Robbins of Robbinsville; two other aunts and an uncle, Josephine Evert of Jackson and John and Carol Todd of Bordentown Township; three special cousins, Gary, Charles and Mark Evert; and many other cousins.
   Funeral services were held Friday from the Buklad Memorial Home, 2141 S. Broad St., Hamilton with the Rev. Keith A. Marshall, pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church, officiating. Burial followed in Colonial Memorial Park in Hamilton.
John T. Killwey
   MANSFIELD — John T. Killwey, Jr., 69, of the Four Seasons section of Columbus, died Nov. 7 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton.
   Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late John T. and Honorah Killwey, he lived in New York before retiring to Columbus. He was an army veteran. Mr. Killwey was also a sales representative for Food and Flavors in Staten Island, N.Y.
   He is survived by his wife, Mary of Columbus, a son, John G. Killwey of Upper Black Eddy, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Michael Jacob of South River; a sister, Marie Lorraine Killwey of Columbus; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Taylor.
   Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Crosswick Street, Bordentown, NJ, followed by interment in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in North Hanover.
Amethyst L. Carey
   EWING — Amethyst L. Carey, 94, passed away Monday at home. Born in Savannah, Ga., she lived in New Jersey for over 80 years. She attended the Old Lincoln School and Bordentown Training School. Mrs. Carey was employed by Syracuse Hospital and N.P.I. in Skillman and was a volunteer for various community organizations. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, the Ewing Democratic Club, Hollowbrook Senior Citizens Club of Ewing, and past president of the Quettes of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
   Daughter of the late Samuel and Minnie Lee, husband of the late John Reeves Carey, mother of the late Delores Lee, and sister of the late Herman and Samuel Lee, she is survived by a daughter, Nancy Carey; a sister, Minnie Ola Taylor; a sister-in-law, Jean Wharton of Texas; granddaughters, Amethyst and Annaliza Carey, Amysha and Natia Cole; and one great-granddaughter, Sanai Cole; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of extended family and friends.
   Funeral services were held at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton with the Rev. Gail Moore officiating. Entombment was held at Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
