Subject charged with downloading child porn

OCEAN TOWNSHIP — A Bayville man was arrested last week for allegedly hacking into a wireless network and downloading child pornography onto a laptop computer.

Paul S. Kayser, 36, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor on Nov. 8 at 2:20 p.m.

According to Ocean Township police, off-duty Officer Michael Rich called headquarters and reported that a vehicle had been backed into a remote section of a parking lot of an office building on Route 35 for an extended period of time. Officer Luke Sciallo was dispatched to investigate, and upon his arrival, he located the vehicle.

According to police, Kayser was alone in the vehicle, and while Officer Sciallo was speaking to him, the officer observed a laptop computer in the vehicle and on the screen were images of young naked boys and girls.

The accused was arrested for possession of child pornography and taken into custody. His computer was seized as evidence.

Police said a subsequent investigation revealed that the accused had downloaded the pornographic images from the Internet and accessed the Internet by way of a nearby office’s wireless networks.

Kayser was processed and released on a summons.
