Plainsboro launches program for serious walkers

The Township of Plainsboro is piloting a new program for serious walkers looking to get together weekly to meet new friends and to stay healthy.
The Recreation Department is working with a volunteer coordinator to lead the walks from many points in Plainsboro, inncorporating miles of walkways and trails in the township parks as well as in the Plainsboro Preserve.
Walkers will meet each Tuesday from 11 a.m. to about noon at a designated spot chosen by the coordinator.
The first two walks are slated to begin at 11 a.m. from the Municipal Building in Plainsboro on Nov. 22 and Nov. 29 to walk the Lenape Trail.
Anyone wishing to participate must sign a waiver and give emergency contact information to the volunteer coordinator.
For more information, call the Plainsboro Recreation Department at (609) 799-0909, ext. 331 or 332. Walkers will walk all winter, weather permitting.
