MONTGOMERY The Health Department has received additional supplies of flu vaccines and is now taking reservations for its Dec. 7 clinic. The clinic will be held at the Otto Kaufman Community Center, 356 Skillman Road.
Flu shots are available free to individuals who meet one or more of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention priority categories. These include:
anyone age 65 and older;
anyone age 18 and older with a chronic health condition, including diabetes, asthma and heart disease, with a doctor’s note;
parents or caregivers of infants younger than 6 months old;
pregnant women with a doctor’s note; and
health-care workers or caregivers of high-risk individuals.
Seniors are asked to bring their Medicare cards.
People in one of those categories who wish to receive the flu vaccine should call the Health Department at (908) 359-8211, ext. 227, or e-mail [email protected].
Pediatric vaccines are not being offered. If a child needs a flu shot and does not have health insurance, contact the Health Department for a referral to a child-health clinic. Pneumonia vaccines also will be available at the clinic.
