St. Nicholas Bazaar set at Trinity Church

As the guest of honor at Trinity Church’s annual St. Nicholas Bazaar, which opens on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. Nick himself will be on hand to pose for Christmas photos with children and families. And visitors may even catch glimpses of one of St. Nick’s favorite elves.
Trinity Church is located on Route 206 in Princeton.
In addition to its honored guests, Trinity’s annual holiday extravaganza, chaired this year by Loretta Cooper of West Windsor and Donna Laessig of Hillsborough, will feature three floors of holiday shopping and children’s activities; a silent auction with hundreds of antiques and collectibles; a book sale with well over 1,000 titles. ranging from paperbacks to coffee table books, and a white elephant shop filled with unexpected finds.
Shoppers will find colorful gingerbread houses decorated by Trinity parishioners, custom-decorated live boxwood topiaries, and lush holiday wreaths. They can also find hand-knit sweaters, hats and scarves for infants, children and adults. Rows of delicious home-baked treats will include the famous "Cookie Walk," where shoppers fill a tin with assorted cookies of their choosing. Women also can shop for gently-used holiday and cocktail/evening attire.
Lunch is available, too, and parents can shop while children make ornaments, have their photos taken with St. Nick, or buy family gifts inside the Junior Shoppers’ room.
As a kick-off to the Saturday and Sunday shopping and activities, a Friday Night Preview Party, chaired by Ruth Thurmond Scott and Julie Harrison of Princeton, offers a party atmosphere of casual elegance featuring silent and live auctions as well as hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
Serving an Episcopal congregation from the greater Princeton and Trenton area, Trinity Church supports the Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton, the Trenton After School Program, Housing Initiatives of Princeton, Motel Meals, and Trinity Counseling Center as key elements of its community outreach. The parish also welcomes homeless families as an Interfaith Hospitality Network host parish.
