Holiday celebration
Saturday, Nov. 26 Fernbrook Farm Education Center, 150 Georgetown Road, Bordentown, will sponsor a winter holiday celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Activities include hiking through woods to look at active wildlife and learn how creatures endure the cold season, games and activities for all ages, wreath making, ornament decorating workshops and storytelling around a fire.
Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for kids under 12. Admission does not include the cost of workshop materials. Call 298-8282 for details; registration is required.
Tree lighting
Saturday, Nov. 26 A Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in Bordentown will be held at the corner of Farnsworth and Crosswicks streets. Santa will greet kids from 5 to 6 p.m. and discuss wishes and holiday stories.
The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with live performances by the Trenton Old Barracks Fife and Drum corps, the a cappella group The Men’s Ensemble and a sing-a-long of some favorite carols.
The tree will be lit at the end of the ceremony with a few surprises. The shops will remain open.
Vietnam meeting
Saturday, Nov. 26 The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 899 will meet at 1 p.m. in the Bordentown Township Senior/Community Center next to the municipal complex.

Christmas tree lighting
Thursday, Dec. 1 The Roebling Historical Society will present the 10th annual Christmas tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. on the Main Street Circle. It will be the Christmas season of Roebling’s 100th anniversary. Goodie bags will be given to kids 12 and under.
Donations are being accepted to help defray the costs of the tree lighting call 499-7632 for more details or if you’d like to donate or volunteer. The Florence Township High School Band will perform.
Open house, tour
Beginning Thursday, Dec. 1 The Chesterfield Township Board of Education will hold two open house events and a school tour to provide residents with additional details of the district-wide Expansion Plan developed to address issues of over-capacity at Chesterfield Elementary School.
This $19.5 million plan will be brought before the public for vote on Dec. 13. Two open house events will provide community members with the opportunity to speak with project professionals, board members and administrators on Dec. 1 and Dec. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the elementary school. Tour is set from 9 to 11 a.m. on Dec. 10.

Fashion show
Friday, Dec. 2 The Holy Assumption School, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling, will hold its annual fashion show. The theme will be "Luau in Paradise" and fashion, food and prizes are planned.

Sandwich sale
Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2-3 The Florence Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1, 501 Delaware Ave., Roebling, will hold a hoagie/meatball sandwich sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. until sell out on Saturday.
Italian, American and tuna hoagies as well as meatball sandwiches will be sold for $5 per sandwich (also includes one soda and bag of chips).

Flea market
Saturday, Dec. 3 The Friends of St. Mary’s School, Elizabeth Street, will hold the next flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s School hall and yard in Bordentown. Inside tables cost $10; outside spaces cost $5.

Meet the artist
Saturday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 17 The Artful Deposit Gallery, 201 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown City, will host renowned Russian illustrator Gennady Spirin from 1 to 4 p.m. for book signings.
Original works from more than a dozen of Spirin’s illustrated books will be available, with unframed originals and signed prints through Jan. 3. Call 298-6970 for details.
Ballroom dancing
Sunday, Dec. 4 The Widows or Widowers of Burlington County will hold a ballroom dancing event at 7 p.m. at the Korean Presbyterian Church, 147 Route 130 North, Bordentown.
This is a social evening of good music and dancing for widows and widowers only. Admission is $7 for members and $10 for guests. Refreshments are featured.

Atlantic City Trip
Tuesday, Dec. 6 A trip to Bally’s in Atlantic City is being sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter NJ 899. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. and return at 6 p.m.
The bus will leave the rear parking lot of the Bordentown Township Senior/Community Center. Attendees are asked to park in the last row. Please park in the last row. Cost is $20 with $18 back in Bally’s bucks.

Breakfast with Santa
Saturday, Dec. 10 Holy Assumption School, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling, will host "Breakfast with Santa" from 9 to 11 a.m. in McGrath Hall.
Games and crafts will be featured and each child will be able to visit with Santa, have their picture taken and receive a small gift. Cost is $5 per person
Holiday House Tour
Saturday, Dec. 10 Tickets for the annual Holiday House Tour are on sale at Apps Hardware, Silk and Tweed and Shoppe 202 located on Farnsworth Avenue.

Beginning Saturday, Dec. 10 Fountain of Life Center, 2035 Columbus Road in Florence Township, will present the annual Christmas production "A Christmas Spectacular" at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
