Congregation B’nai Tikvah, North Brunswick, has announced Lisa Mason, Monroe Township, has joined its staff as the new program director. She will be responsible for reaching out to the area communities to inform various groups of the availability of the temple’s newly expanded facilities. Prior to joining Tikvah, Mason was past membership vice president at Congregation Etz Chaim, Monroe Township, where she is a current member of the board of trustees. She is also a lifetime member of Hadassah’s East Brunswick chapter. Mason has a master’s degree in education, and is a registered music therapist. She and her husband are the parents of a son, and twin son and daughter.
The United States Postal Service has announced several local post offices have extended hours. The facilities will remain open until 4 p.m. Saturdays, and 7 p.m. weekdays. Area post offices with extended hours are located in the Avenel section of Woodbridge, Colonia section of Woodbridge, Metuchen, Middlesex, Milltown, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, Monroe, Parlin, Sayreville, South River, Spotswood and Woodbridge. The extended hours are designed to provide customers with more options and to expand access to products and services. New Jersey Gateway Federal Credit Union (NJ Gateway FCU), Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, recently received a community charter from the National Credit Union Administration to offer its products, services, and membership benefits to any individual who lives, works, attends school, or worships in Middlesex County. Prior to the change, the field of membership was strictly limited to employee groups. Gateway was formed in 1969 by the employees of IBM, Dayton section of South Brunswick. In addition to savings and checking products, loans and mortgages, it offers free electronic services such as online bill pay, and Internet banking.
E. Martin Davidoff, East Brunswick, was recently named one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting” by Accounting Today magazine due to the fact that “his views on issues affecting tax practice are heard at the highest levels of government.” Davidoff is a CPA and tax attorney, and founder and firm manager of E. Martin Davidoff & Associates, Dayton section of South Brunswick, which specializes in IRS problems resolution. He is also founder and chair of the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants’ IRS tax liaison committee. Additionally, he is a co-author of New Jersey’s S-corporation legislation, was named Accountant Advocate of the Year in 1997 by the U.S. SBA, and was appointed by Gov. Christine Todd Whitman as a delegate to the 1995 White House Conference on Small Business.
