Lambertville

   Raul Salazar, 20, of Ewing was charged with operating a stolen vehicle Nov. 19.
   Police stopped Mr. Salazar on Route 165 in the area of Route 518 at 2:44 a.m. after observing the vehicle had no rear lights, police said.
   The vehicle was found to have a fictitious Pennsylvania license plate, police said. Police also said they saw the vehicle had no key in the ignition at which point Mr. Salazar said he used a knife to start the car.
   A check of the vehicle identification number revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen from Trenton Nov. 14.
   Mr. Salazar also was found to be in possession of marijuana, police said.
   Mr. Salazar also was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of CDS under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS in a vehicle, being an unlicensed driver and improper maintenance of lamps.
   He was taken to the Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
   Joseph Brown, 46, of Lambertville was charged with forgery theft Nov. 19 as a result of an incident that occurred Nov. 4 in Lambertville.
   Police also charged Mr. Brown with theft by deception and receiving stolen property after he used a stolen check to purchase $280 in automotive parts from National Parts Supply on Delevan Street.
   The check had been reported stolen by Mr. Brown’s employer, West End Farm in New, Pa.
   Mr. Brown allegedly forged his employer’s name in order to make the purchase.
   Mr. Brown was served with the warrants at Hunterdon County Jail where he is being held on other charges. Bail was set at $5,000.
   Jesus Caballero, 23, of Lambertville was charged with theft of a motor vehicle Nov. 21 after a Pennsylvania resident reported the car stolen from Lambertville.
   Juan Garcia of Doylestown, Pa., reported the theft of his car to police Nov. 20 after he found his car missing from South Franklin Street. Mr. Garcia said he awoke to find the car missing and believed it had been taken during the night.
   Police said they learned the stolen vehicle had been involved in a motor vehicle accident the night before in Hamilton Township. State Police investigated the accident.
   State Police arrested Mr. Caballero for receiving stolen property and hindering apprehension after he provided a false name to authorities. Mr. Caballero had been staying with Mr. Garcia in Lambertville.
   After being charged in Lambertville, bail was set at $5,000. He was taken to Hamilton Township police to await a hearing on the charges in Mercer County before returning to Hunterdon County.
   John McDermott, 51, of Philadelphia was arrested on an outstanding warrant as a result of a motor vehicle stop Nov. 17.
   Police stopped Mr. McDermott on Route 29 in the area of Weeden Street at 10:10 p.m. after observing a taillight was broken.
   Mr. McDermott was found to have a warrant issued by Stone Harbor Police for failure to appear on traffic charges. He was released without bail.
   Jesus Hernandez, 27, of New Hope was arrested on an outstanding warrant Nov. 14.
   Police stopped Mr. Hernandez after recognizing him walking on South Union Street at 8:30 a.m. Mr. Hernandez was known to have a warrant for failure to appear on trespassing charges in Lambertville.
   Mr. Hernandez was released without bail.
   Nov. 24 at 5:45 p.m., Michael S. Kanter, 38, of Plumstead was arrested on motor vehicle warrants from Ventnor Municipal Court and Stone Harbor for $500.
   Mr. Kanter was stopped for speeding on North Main Street. He posted bail and was released.
   Nov. 24 at about midnight, Melissa P. Merry, 28, of Delaware Township was charged with drunken driving.
   Police stopped her on North Union Street for driving without the headlights on.
   She also was charged with reckless driving and driving without lights and released without bail.
   Nov. 24 shortly before 1 a.m., William C. Nabinger, 29, of Hamilton was charged with drunken driving.
   He was stopped on Route 179 after police received calls about an erratic driver.
   He also was charged with reckless driving and careless driving and released without bail.
   Saturday, police conducted a DWI checkpoint on Bridge Street between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m.
   Five arrests were made.
   At 10:20 p.m., police arrested Christopher M. Russo, 47, of Lawrenceville on a motor vehicle warrant from Manasquan Municipal Court for $1,000.
   Mr. Russo was turned over to Manasquan police.
   At 1 a.m., Dennis M. Barnoski, 48, of Ewing was charged with drunken driving and reckless driving and released without bail.
   At 11:36 p.m., Mark C. Bove, 30, of Monmouth Junction, N.J., was charged with drunken driving.
   He also was charged with reckless driving and failure to stop for a police officer’s hand signal. He drove away from the checkpoint after being told to pull over, police said.
   He was taken to Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.
   At 10:50 p.m., Christopher J. Conroy, 34, of Lawrenceville and Cara L. Levenson, 34, of Philadelphia were arrested after they drove through the checkpoint, police said.
   Police said they smelled burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle as it passed.
   Mr. Conroy was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. Ms. Levenson was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.
   Both were released without bail.
   Monday at 1:47 a.m., Patrice K. Stock, 20, of Pipersville was stopped on Route 518 for failure to maintain her lane.
   She was charged with underage drunken driving, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and backing onto a state highway.
   She was released without bail.
New Hope

   Douglas Greenfield, 47, of New Hope was charged with simple assault and harassment Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
   Police said there was a disturbance at his Riverwoods Drive home.
   He was released after posting bail.
   Rudolf Fuchs Jr., 27, of Willow Grove, Pa., was charged with criminal trespass and public drunkenness Sunday at about 1 a.m.
   Police said he broke into the basement of a residence on Mechanic Street.
   He was released after posting bail.
Solebury

   Police arrested Daniel Bernard Hogan, 50, of Alter Road, New Kensington, Pa.., after a two-month investigation, charging him with theft by unlawful taking, theft of services, receiving stolen property and bad checks.
   Police said Mr. Hogan ordered nearly $10,000 worth of metal from a nursery, never paid for it and issued a bad check for $1,000 for delivery, knowing the check was bad.
   Mr. Hogan turned himself in and was released after posting bail.
   Police have arrested two men and charged them with statutory rape, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with minors and selling or furnishing liquor or malt to a minor.
   The investigation started about two weeks ago when the mother of a 15-year-old reported her daughter had sexual intercourse with an adult in an apartment in Solebury Township.
   Police were able to confirm the rape did take place on or about Oct. 28 or 29 in an apartment on Sunset Drive and that two adult men had sexual contact with the victim.
   Charged were James J. Feeley, 20, of Sunset Drive, Solebury, in whose apartment the alleged rape occurred, and Mark D. Rowe, 21, of French Drive, Buckingham, Pa.
   Bail was set for both at $15,000 each.
