SEBRING, Fla. Joseph Shutack died Nov. 20 at home. He was 95.
Born in Barnesboro, Pa., he lived in Manville and Somerville before moving to Sebring 26 years ago.
Mr. Shutack worked as a supervisor for Public Service Electric & Gas for 47 years before retiring 29 years ago.
He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was elected to the Manville Board of Education many years ago while a resident in Manville.
He was a member of the Sebring Hill Association.
He was active in Little League, the Recreation Commission and the Young Men’s Christian Association Boys Club of Somerville.
He was a member of the Republican Executive Committee and the Industrial Management Committee, both of Somerset County.
He was the choir director and former trustee of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Manville.
Surviving are a son, Roger; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Nov. 22 from Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, followed by a Mass in Our Lady of Grace Church.
