With all of the presents and good holiday foods, sometimes it’s easy to forget what Christmas is all about.
As a reminder, the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury will have a re-enactment of the first Christmas on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
The biannual living Nativity procession will begin at 82 N. Main St. During their journey through town, Joseph and the pregnant Mary will be riding a donkey and will be accompanied by the shepherds, three wise men and angels.
The group will travel to the Cranbury Inn, only to be turned away by the innkeeper. The cast will then proceed to the church and will take part in the candlelight vespers service, which begins at 4 p.m.
Members of the bell, brass and children’s choir will be singing Christmas songs and performing music.
Clifford Anderson and Virginia Donovan will be Joseph and Mary and the shepherds will be played by Paul Michaud and Robert and Samuel Vananzi. Acting as the three wise men will be Alan Danser, Don Winchell and Chris Wynings. The youngest of the cast will be the angels, played by Julia Munoz, Christine Oglesby and Carly Riemand.
Also this weekend will be the Mother’s Club brunch, Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury. Santa also is expected attend.
Laurie Davis from the First Presbyterian Nursery School will be singing Christmas carols with the children at 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. when Santa will arrive. He will be delivering presents to all the good boys and girls.
Later Saturday night, the United Methodist Church on Main Street will be having a soup and sandwich dinner at 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Afterward, members of the church will participate in the Holiday Talent show.
