WW-P referendum supporters plan forum and tour

The Citizens Referendum Team will hold a public forum on the Jan. 24 facilities referendum for the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District.
It will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South.
In addition to a presentation about the referendum, the forum will include tours through areas of the high school slated for renovation.
The Citizens Referendum Team is a group of citizens who support the passage of the district’s facilities referendum. Their goal is to inform members of the community about the details of — and need for — the referendum and to encourage citizens to vote for its passage.
Co-chairs of the team — Anthony Fleres, Diane Hasling, Andy Lupo and Chris Yan — encourage members of the communities to attend the meeting, where they can learn firsthand the details of the plan and have an opportunity to volunteer to work with the team and its informational campaign.
The facilities-referendum package includes upgrades and additions to five of the district’s 10 schools. These additions and upgrades will accommodate current and future student enrollment growth as well as state curriculum requirements.
The total cost of the plan is $25.2 million for the base question, and $2.3 million for the second question, to install synthetic turf fields at both high schools. The fields in the second question can be funded only if both the base and second questions pass.
