Year-long restaurant handover complete
By: George Spohr
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse’s takeover of Good Time Charley’s on Route 27 in Kingston is complete.
The location has been redesigned so that it conforms to the Charlie Brown’s chain theme.
The dining area features "teacup" booths large enough for six people, making "semi-private" dining areas for the guests.
The restaurant seats about 225 people in the dining room and 35 bar stools in the lounge.
The restaurant, which was opened by Merrill Zinder in 1969, employs about 75. Mr. Zinder said he sold the business so that he could retire to Florida.
The phase-in of the Charlie Brown’s theme took more than a year.
The restaurant retained the Good Time Charley’s name until Charlie Brown’s was able to secure permits for remodeling.
Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse signature items include prime rib and the Farmer’s Market Salad Bar that carries more than 45 items.
Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Dinner will be served from 3 p.m. through 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 3 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and from 11:30 a.m. through 9 p.m. on Sunday.
The bar menu will be served continuously in the bar & lounge and the bar is opened late into each night.
Charlie Brown’s Steakhouses are located in 36 New Jersey communities, including East Windsor, Hamilton, Hillsborough, Washington Township and West Windsor.
