Margaret Shaara O’Brien, Manalapan, recently joined the law firm of Norris McLaughlin and Marcus, P.A., Somer-ville, as an associate with the firm’s construction law group. She is experienced in construction and commercial law, contract law, architect engineer errors and omissions malpractice defense, administrative law, and federal boards of contract appeals law. Prior to joining Norris, O’Brien was at the office of Frank T. Araps, Esq., for 19 years. She received her juris doctor degree at Rutgers University School of Law, Camden, and bachelor of arts degree at Montclair State College.

An attorney who specializes in matrimonial law has joined the law firm of Chamlin, Rosen, Uliano and Withering-ton, of West Long Branch. Michelle M. Rosen, of Freehold, is an associate attorney. Rosen is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she received a bachelor’s degree in English. She earned her master’s degree in journalism and mass communication from New York University and her juris doctorate degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. She is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York, and is a certified mediator in New Jersey. While attending the Cardozo School of Law, Rosen was a member of the Faculty Student Life Committee, and trained in Courtroom Advocacy Project, Summer Institute in Alternative Dispute Resolu-tion. She also served internships with two New York City law firms – Schwartz and Perry, LLP, and Frankfurt, Garbus, Kurnit, Klein and Selz, PC, and a legal internship with Content Films Inc., New York. In addition, Rosen served as a family law judicial law clerk to the Honorable Michael Diamond, Presiding Family Law Judge in Passaic County.

Orthopaedic, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, P.A., or Ortho Center, has opened an office in Marlboro. The center held a grand-opening party at their Marlboro location on Dec. 1. The Ortho Center’s main office is located at 80 Oak Hill Road in Red Bank.

The Ortho Center’s president, Dr. Steven Lisser, a resident of Marlboro, is a specialist in sports medicine and surgery of the hand, shoulder and elbow. The Hepburn House in Freehold changed ownership in October, and the historic bed and breakfast is now owned by the Berryman family. Peter Berryman was raised in Freehold and is still a resident of the borough. The 1885 house will be one of the featured stops on the Freehold Center Partnership’s 13th annual Holiday House Tour on Dec. 17.

Stops on the tour, which will include both historical private residences and public buildings, will be open to visitors from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shuttle buses will be available to transport those taking the tour from the starting point, the First United Methodist Church of Freehold, at 91 W. Main St., to the additional stops on the route. Refreshments will be available at the church.

Joffe Family Chiropractic, Manalapan, will hold a holiday food drive to benefit the Open Door food pantry in Freehold. Open Door serves approximately 350 families per month at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Throckmorton Street in Freehold. Lunches are served Monday-Thursday from noon to 1:30 p.m. Items of need include baby food and diapers, peanut butter, tuna, ketchup, mayonnaise, juice and rice. Gene J. Mulroy, Colts Neck, was recently appointed by acting Gov. Richard J. Codey to the board of trustees at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. Mulroy is a principal at the public affairs and communications firm of Holt, Mulroy & Germann Public Affairs, Trenton. He and his wife are the parents of three children.

The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners’ Women’s Business Center will offer a 12-hour “Profit Savvy” class Jan. 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 6-9 p.m. The seminar open to both men and women will be at Expressions Photo Boutique, 54 W.
