Bloomberg, a global financial services and media company, is slated to open a data processing office in Dayton between Ridge and Culver roads.
The Planning Board unanimously granted Bloomberg L.P. amended site plan approval on Dec. 14 to allow the company to rebuild a storage shed on the property and build cooling tanks, which will be used to control the climate in the office building to keep computers at a proper temperature.
This division of Bloomberg is currently running out of Princeton Forrestal on College Road and will relocate to the Dayton office. About 100 employees will work at the Dayton facility, which will be used to compile and analyze financial information, according to company officials.
Representatives from Bloomberg said the company has run out of space in its current office and the Ridge Road facility will allow the company more room to expand.
As part of its plans to refurbish the building, representatives from Bloomberg said that they want to relocate a loading dock from the Culver Road side of the building to the back of the building.
When the company moves in a guard will be on the premises 24 hours a day, seven days a week, manning a booth near the building’s entrance on Ridge Road.
