AROUND CRANBURY: Ice skating and a move to Pennsylvania

AROUND CRANBURY by Lorraine Sedor: Discussed in this weeks column: Two town announcements, the winners of the Lion’s annual Christmas decoration contest, and Joyce Campbell’s plans to move.

By: Lorraine Sedor
Two important announcements from the Public Works Department: The Middlesex County recycling program will pick up recyclables on Cranbury’s regularly scheduled day, Monday, Dec. 26.
Also, you may have noticed that the temporary ice rink is up at Village Park.
Parents and kids are reminded there is no ice-skating allowed unless the flag is up. Parents are also expected to maintain supervision at all times. Finally, if it happens to snow, users are asked to shovel the rink and completely remove the snow from the surface.
Hopefully we’ll have that opportunity soon!

Speaking of houses, Joyce Campbell’s is nearly complete!
Joyce, whose friendly face greeted us at the Post Office counter for years, has retired to Punxsutawney, Pa.
She plans to move into her home their on Dec. 29, which works out perfectly, because her kids will be available to help with the move, along with other family members recruited for their ability to do "heavy work." Joyce’s new address is 121 Columbus Drive, Punxsutawney, Pa., 15767.
Says Joyce, "I really do not want to lose touch with Cranbury. It was my second home. I will be available as a tour guide if anyone comes for a visit to Punxsutawney."
Joyce may have a house full come February when Phil the groundhog makes his annual prediction!
