EWING Sasha Rash, owner of the Princeton-based La Jolie Salon, has opened up The Lab, a cosmetology training school, at Suburban Square shopping center on Scotch Road.
The Lab is run out of a 14,500-square-foot facility. The cosmetology program features design, cutting, coloring, multicultural techniques, up-styling, fashion trends, make-up, skin and nail care and preparation for state licensing exam.
Three phases of hands-on and classroom training build a foundation for what the company bills as an academic and creative experience. During the first two phases of their education, students learn everything from cosmetology basics to retailing, time management and communication. In the third stage, students perform advanced hairdressing, coloring and chemical work on actual guests in a 5,000 square foot salon-like environment.
"A cosmetology student has an extreme passion that they haven’t even recognized yet," Ms. Rash said. "Opening a venue to nurture this passion is the best decision I could have made to ensure that these future professionals have a place to learn and grow and begin the path to the amazing future they have in store for themselves."
